Simply the Best October 30, 2007
edwardz from St.Joseph Missouri

"I have owned this machine for 2 years now and it never lets me down. Simple to work and clean, turn the knob to get the grind you want whether it be in its container or right in the basket of your coffee maker. Does not take up much counter space either, I would recommend this to anyone who loves to grind ther own beans as I do. It's the only way to enjoy coffee. This is truely a great machine."

Good Grinder February 12, 2010
RLhomecooking from San Antonio, TX

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, construction, Performs Well, quality

"Our grinder is 2 years old. We use this grinder for French press and auto drip coffee and it produces the desired grind every time. Works well for very fine grinds also. Sturdy. Plenty of adjustment."

100% Worth the Cost January 29, 2010
Neurogenesis from Cleveland/SF Bay Area

Pros: durability, Performs Well, perfect

"A lot of coffee grinders have come and gone through my kitchen through the years that I have been drinking coffee. This is the ONLY one to last more than 2. In fact, I have been using my KitchenAid Pro Burr grinder for just over 7 years without it ever breaking, slowing down, or even overheating. I make a lot of espresso on a non-automated machine because I like the feel of packing the grounds etc.. This grinder is also the ONLY home grinder that gets the grounds just right to pull that perfect shot of Peet's in the morning without bean dust getting into the crema or course grounds diluting the taste. For anyone on the fence about buying this grinder, don't hesitate. I would pay double the retail value for another if mine ever broke. After 7 years though, that does not seem likely."

Does a great job December 2, 2009
rotpwc from Stockton, IL

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, Cord length, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to store, easy to use, Functional/Useful, Low noise, Performs Well, quality

"This grinder does a very efficient job of grinding the coffee beans. It is easy to clean with no plastic parts. It's a very professional looking piece of equipment.

There is a minor amount of coffee bean debris that needs to be cleaned up, but much less than other coffee grinders I have used. In addition, this grinder has a pretty large capacity.

My only worry is if I can be coordinated enough not to break the glass jar that the coffee grounds go in. The top piece of glass is quite thick. The bottom piece is thinner. But then you can call Kitchen Aid and order another glass jar.

Reliable Grinder April 10, 2009
Baron from Indiana

"After many grinders, I've finally found one that lasts!

PROS:
*Reliable [two years and going strong]
*Quiet
*Minimal static electricity mean less messy
*Relatively easy to clean

CONS:
*Beans occasionally hang up in the hopper. Must shake the
whole appliance or stir the beans to resume grinding
*On the coarse setting, I still get a lot a fine particles

works well, but lid doesn't seal well at all January 8, 2009
engineer from Honolulu, HI

Pros: sturdy, grinds well
Cons: lid doesn't seal at all, customer service not very helpful

"My wife needed a new coffee grinder since her old one died after over 10 years of use. The reviews for this one were good, based on it's intended use (press pot coffee.)

It works well and seems very sturdy. My wife likes the fact that there seems to be less coffee bean 'dust' produced by this grinder.

However, the seal provided by the lid is extremely poor. The o-ring seal on the plastic lid is such a joke since the outside diameter of the o-ring is about 1/16" smaller than the inside diameter of the top of the glass hopper.

I contacted KitchenAid's 'special' customer service (special for Pro Line owners) and was told that nothing was wrong since they're all like that (all Pro Line grinders.) Yet I recall reading some reviews that mentioned this problem, and others saying that it had been resolved.

A grinder that does well at any grind. January 5, 2009
Darkshin from Siloam Springs, AR

Pros: manual adjustability, attractive, no plastic!, doesn't leave beans behind, low rpm

"This little baby has so many things I love. The manual tells you how to tweak the space between the burrs to change the 15 grind settings to make coffee grind more fine or coarse than the preadjusted settings. I adjusted mine to grind the finest it can for espresso, and the coarsest setting still is a bit bigger than I would like for my French press. The burs are vertical with a rotary pusher. That means as long as it falls into the chamber its going get ground, so less bean grinds getting left behind to get stale and mixed into the next batch. I was a bit concerned that it’s not a conical grinder for this price, but the vertical burr setup fixes a lot of consistency problems that are common with a lot of standard burr grinders."

A Real Winner October 9, 2008
Cassiescook from Amesbury, MA

"This is a great grinder. I've used it regularly for over two years. The carafe broke and I was in despair until I got a replacement. I've had many grinders over the years, some of which drove me to store-ground coffee. This one is a jewel. it's fast, quiet, sturdy and makes a grind for a great coffee."

Great Grinder July 24, 2008
Anonymous from NY

"I've owned this coffee grinder for two years and I find that a good burr grinder makes a difference over a blade grinder for excellent coffee taste. This is a well built unit, easy to clean and great if you like to occasionally change from drip grind and enjoy a coarser grind for french press use. The dial to change grind is so easy to use. If you stay with one grind, set it and forget it."

Fabulous!!! June 24, 2008
Janet from Mechanicsburg, PA

"This grinder is the best - low noise, great selection of grinds and a burr grinder that just keeps going like the Energizer Bunny! This is a replacement for the Krups burr grinder that lasted barely a year and was SO noisy and full of static electricity that grounds flew everywhere & stuck to the grind bin. The KitchenAid Pro has minimal static, grinds stay put in glass bin til you spoon them out. Fits under my counter well, is a solid machine that says "quality" - and is still doing the job perfectly over a year and a half later. Oh that ALL small kitchen electrics were as solid and dependable and well-made/engineered!!!!"

Awesome! A+++ June 6, 2008
erlisha from Colorado Springs

"This machine is great. It is one of the best coffee grinders, if not the best, I have ever used. Very low noise, small convenient design that fits well just about anywhere! I would highly recommend this product. Yeah, the price is a bit higher than other models but it is well worth the cost."

Great Grinder, Solid! May 18, 2008
TheGuy from Sonoma County, CA

"A great grinder, solid build, very consistent grind. Even the instruction manual is heavy duty.
I set it to 5 and have never moved it.
There is still static even with the Glass grind container, but it does have much less static than my last grinder. I have found that if you just exhale lightly into the glass container as you remove it from the grinder it knocks the static down to nothing.
It you do not rap on the side of the grinder once or twice before removing the glass container a small amount of grounds will drop down on the Bin Platform.
KitchenAid quality, like you would expect, looks at home next to my KitchenAid Stand Mixer.

Amazing Grinder January 4, 2008
couture from parker, colorado

"My daughter and I love morning coffee and this coffee grinder works the best so far. It is easy to use, however complicated to clean. My daughter can grind coffee anytime she wants with ease, by the way she is fifteen. I would buy this grinder again."
