Just can't live without this mixer!
October 19, 2007 gr8chefmbfrom Mesquite, TX
"I absolutely LOVE this mixer! It can handle just about any task you care to assign to it - from whipping egg whites to whipping mashed potates to kneading bread dough to whatever. This machine is like an extra pair of hands in my kitchen, and even better, it doesn't take up a lot of space. With the variety of attachments you can purchase for it, this mixer can be extremely versatile. As Alton Brown would say, 'Don't buy something that doesn't have several different uses!' This mixer can be cleaned easily and will offer years of dependability. The multiple speeds can handle the most delicate of tasks to the heavier ones, such as kneading bread. I think the only flaw is that I wished the top flipped up, similar to the old-fashioned stand mixers. This isn't really a big deal, though, because the bowl goes up and down by means of a handle on the side. I also wish that there are smaller bowls for little tasks, but I can usually use my hand mixer or blender for those. It would just be nice for the times when I need an extra pair of hands. Overall, this is a dream machine to use and truly indispensable in the kitchen."

Last's a long time
April 27, 2008 nashvillegrannyfrom Arkansas
"My husband and children purchased this mixer for me in the late l960's or early 70's. I have made a lot of cakes and decorations with it. Boy scouts, Brownies, Sports, Birthdays, Mason's & Eastern Star, Weddings, on and on. I have never had a moments trouble with it. I sure would like to try the new acessories. I am 73 yrs. young and still trying to make cakes for family and friends. Thanks"

new mixer
April 10, 2008 ncmamafrom NC
"This mixer works great for everything I've tried so far. I had the smallest, 250 Watt, 4 Qt mixer for 23 years and gave it to my son and daughter in law. It's still going strong. The new one works well with the macaroni attachment and my stiff dough, where the smaller one got hot with this attachment. It mixes everything quickly and easily. I look forward to using it to it's full capacity. My only complaint about it is the beater and dough hook have to be handwashed. Also, the bowl lifting takes a little getting used to. I would highly recommend any kitchen aid mixer. I wouldn't think of having any other kind. They last forever."

I use this daily and can't live without it
April 6, 2008 kwingerfrom Essex Jct, VT
"I love my mixer! I am so happy that i purchased the pro 600 because it is top notch and fits all of my mixing needs. From mixing cookie dough to bread dough or just whipping potatos or cream. I love to bake and this is one tool I cannot live without! One of the best features is the locking bowl. The machine will not work unless it is locked in correctly. And the handle on the bowl makes easy work of filling cake pans."

Worth the Price!
March 28, 2008 debrakfrom Silver Spring MD
"This has the strongest motor of all the KitchenAid mixers. While all the KitchenAid mixers are great, this is the best. More power, double batches, lots of room in the bowl, less flyaway with flour because of the slow start up, and steady - on the counter and dependable. My original KitchenAid Classic is 20 years old and running great, but my sister and I could not wait to get this model. A winner!"

A Must Have!
March 20, 2008 SouthernBelleCheffrom Atlanta, GA
"This mixer is probably one of my favorite tools in the kitchen. I received it as a wedding present and although I am not much of a baker, it has been a joy to have when I do get the urge to bake! It is easy to use, cleanup is a snap, it stores well and it truly makes whatever I am preparing, so much easier. My only complaint about this mixer is that I do wish that the top tilted up. Sometimes it can be a small challenge to unhook the attachment to get the bowl out, but it is not a big issue. I highly recommend this mixer and have used it for almost 10 years!"

Multiple batch disaster
January 4, 2008 fewreviewsfrom Maine
"Although this mixer mixed single batches beautifully, it is simply not up to multiple batches (two or more) of stiff dough. Knocks itself right off its pins and heaves dough onto the counter. I went for the new 7 quart Cuisinart after this one failed miserably and put it through its paces (e.g. double batches of bread dough and savory biscotti dough using 8 cups of flour, 5 cups of Parmesan, 2 cups of butter, etc.). It begged for more. My kind of machine."

The Rolls Royce of Mixers
December 4, 2007 Potstickerfrom Indianapolis
"This is my third KitchenAid Stand Mixer. The first one only lasted fifteen years, the second one was purchased by my mother in 1942 and I inherited it in 1993 and used it for a couple years until I replaced it with my present Pro 600; my sister now has the 1942 model, and it still works! Add the three together, and you get 90 years of good service. This workhorse can knead the most difficult dough in an apparent effortless style; it breezes through brioche and buttercream which must be beaten for long periods of time without overheating or "complaining," and can whip up a double batch of cookies in record time. You do have to scrape down the sides once. The lever to lift and lower the bowl is a great convenience, and rarely does anything splash out of the bowl, regardless of the speed ( you have ten to chose from). The huge metal bowl is unbreakable and has a handle for ease in lifting. This mixer is a lifetime investment and is worth the price."

Not so sure about pie.
November 30, 2007 Valeriefrom Bismarck, ND
"This machine is awesome and I do really love it. However I was making pumpkins pies for thanksgiving and the spices and eggs were in the bottom of the bowl. I thought that everything looked well mixed and started pouring it into the pan only to see at the bottom everything else sitting unmixed. This mixer is great otherwise,it is powerful and allows for easy cleanup."

"Since purchasing this mixer I make at least twice as many cookies and cakes as I used to. It's easier to use, makes less mess in the kitchen (no splatters) and easier to clean up than a hand mixer - just toss it in the dishwasher. Haven’t used the hand mixer since this one came into my kitchen, doubt I ever will. 'nuff said. Oh, guess there is 1 con; too much scraping down the side of the bowl and paddle, I think it could be designed better with very little effort."

I can't believe I waited so long!
November 9, 2007 nolafrom New Orleans
"I have never owned a Kitchenaid mixer before, but finally became excited about it when my children decided they wanted to give me one for mother's day this year. I don't bake bread, but make cookies and other things that the mixer might make easier. Since ireceiving it, my daughter and I have made cookies on occasion, but especially have become fond of making pasta! The pasta attachment makes this SO EASY! And the difference between store bought and homemade pasta is tremendous. It is fast and easy. This is a powerful machine. It also easily makes ice cream, allowing me to give my ice cream maker to my brother. This machine makes jobs easier and pares down you r kitchen. I haven't gotten the shredder,/slicer yet, but may be able to get rid of my food processor as well. Storing attachments is easier than storing all the separate machines! Next up: making bread!"

"I've had this mixer for about 8 months. I don't know what I would do without it. This comes with a recipe booklet that produces the best pie crust you can make. I've tried hundreds of pie crust recipes, including blue ribbon recipes, and this is the best. This mixer has all kinds of great uses, I have never had problems with it at all."

Size does matter!
November 9, 2007 SandyDfrom SE Michigan
"I debated on which mixer to buy for a long time before buying this mixer. I read the reviews on the smaller models and decided on this one based on the number of complaints on burned-out motors. I made the right decision. I can't believe how often I use this for jobs I used to do by hand. Buy it! It's money well spent."

Growing Cooks
October 27, 2007 cyndyfrom Flower Mound
"I purchased my own Kitchen-Aid mixer years ago and still use it. I used cooking and baking as a visual way to teach my kids their math fractions and the mixer was always humming along during the delicious lessons. When they each left home they wanted there own mixers. Chefs shipped each of them the newer Pro models. ( I am slightly jealous) They are fabulous cooks and bakers today. Each time they use their mixers they remember the fun lessons in my kitchen. Sometimes they call and I hear the mixer whirling in the background."

couldn't cook without it
October 25, 2007 Chicoragirlfrom State Line, MS
"I received a KitchenAid Pro 600 Mixer for Christmas last year and since I received it the first week of December I put it to use right away. I usually make about 30 batches of divinity candy during the month of December and this machine did it just right every time. I like the big bowl especially the handle and the way it lets up and down for me to scrape the sides of the bowl. I even let my husband use it when he makes bread which he will be doing a lot of since he retired last week."

"THIS IS THE SECOND KITCHENAID STAND MIXER I PURCHASED. MY FIRST IS STILL GOING STRONG 17 YEARS LATER, BUT I WAS LURED BY THE CAPACITY OF THIS MACHINE. AT THE HOLIDAYS I MAKE OVER 2 DOZEN CHEESECAKES FOR GIFTS FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS & IT SEEMS EACH YEAR THE LIST FOR CAKES GETS LONGER. THIS MACHINE ALLOWS FOR EASY PREP OF TWO AT A TIME. THIS WAY I ONLY HAVE TO START BAKING IN OCTOBER, INSTEAD OF AUGUST! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS NEW ADDITION TO MY KITCHENAID KITCHEN. I THINK ANYONE ELSE WHO IS A SERIOUS BAKER/COOK WILL TOO."

LOVE IT!!!!
October 19, 2007 machtownfrom Machias, New York
"I call this big boy my "Harley". Best birthday gift I ever received. This KitchenAid Pro 600 puts everything else to shame. I have made triple batches of extra thick, heavy dough, and this machine breezes through the process. I found myself making extra cookies JUST TO USE THE MIXER. I have already told my husband that from now on, every time something breaks down, we need to replace it with a KitchenAid. Easy to use, and cuts down on prep time because of the massive amounts it will take on."
