Love my KitchenAid! January 12, 2010
sarah7580 from Birmingham, AL

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to use, Fast/ Speed, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting, multi-purpose, Number of speeds, Performs Well, quality, Variety of Colors
Cons: Noise, size

"I received this as a wedding anniversary gift and am spoiled now and forever more. I will never be able to use a hand mixer again without thinking of how much better it could be with my KitchenAid.

Not only can you make sweets with it, but you can mix bread dough, meatloaf... pretty much anything you can think of that needs mixing can be done with this machine.

All the attachments available (ice cream! pasta!) also make it very versatile and a great multi-tasker in the kitchen.

I would buy this over & over again but fortunately, given the quality of KitchenAid products, I probably won't have to!

Biggest Time Saver Ever January 8, 2009
NanaT from Denver, CO

"I thought I never would see a holiday out of the kitchen. This year baking was a miracle. We celebrate every Christmas by making a traditional sweet bread from Portugal. This recipe takes 5 lbs of flour, 1 dozen eggs, a pound of butter and so on.... My sister and I were a little skeptical that this mixer would be able to produce such a heavy load. In spite of our worries we started the bread and to our delight this machine not only handled this massive recipe, it kneeded it so well even our grandmother would have approved. Not only did we get out of the kitchen we were able to make several other of our favorite recipes in a quarter of the time. We love you Kitchenaid!"

The best thing in my kitchen August 22, 2008
blessedtazz from San Bernardino, CA

"I've owned this model for approx. 5 years. Love it! In fact, I just purchased one for my best friend and told her I needed to give her an early Christmas present. I gave it to her 2 days ago; she cried. She called me yesterday and said her husband stayed up that night for 3 hours reading everything about it. He's as thrilled as she was. Now it will be the best thing in their kitchen."

Just can't live without this mixer! October 19, 2007
gr8chefmb from Mesquite, TX

"I absolutely LOVE this mixer! It can handle just about any task you care to assign to it - from whipping egg whites to whipping mashed potates to kneading bread dough to whatever. This machine is like an extra pair of hands in my kitchen, and even better, it doesn't take up a lot of space. With the variety of attachments you can purchase for it, this mixer can be extremely versatile. As Alton Brown would say, 'Don't buy something that doesn't have several different uses!' This mixer can be cleaned easily and will offer years of dependability. The multiple speeds can handle the most delicate of tasks to the heavier ones, such as kneading bread. I think the only flaw is that I wished the top flipped up, similar to the old-fashioned stand mixers. This isn't really a big deal, though, because the bowl goes up and down by means of a handle on the side. I also wish that there are smaller bowls for little tasks, but I can usually use my hand mixer or blender for those. It would just be nice for the times when I need an extra pair of hands. Overall, this is a dream machine to use and truly indispensable in the kitchen."

Glorious Gluten-free Goodies March 12, 2010
KitchenBabe from Asheville, NC

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, Cord length, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to store, easy to use, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting, Performs Well, quality, True to Color, Value for Money, Variety of Colors

"Got home from an early dismissal at school due to snow thinking how nice it would be to find my new red Kitchen Aid 600 sitting on the porch. It was a long shot, but it was there! I called a couple of neighbors who immediately came over to see. I felt like the guy in "Fiddler on the Roof" when he got his sewing machine.

What a dream to use! I got it because I am dealing with gluten-intolerance and those batters are gooey, heavy and hard to mix. I was tired of the burning smell eminating from my little hand held Kitchen Aid. That last time I tried French bread convinced me it was time to step up to the 600. No problem for this mixer. There's only one thing I wish they'd thought of...a light to shine down into the bowl. It's dark in there!

ckerr112 from Urbana, MO

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, Cord length, durability, Number of speeds, Performs Well, quality, Value for Money, Variety of Colors, Warranty
Cons: can't think of one.

"I have had the Model 600 for about a month now and I am impressed. It is by far the single best purchase I have ever made for kitchen equipment. My machine, dark pewter, is beautiful, easy to operate and very powerful. I conidered the smaller machine, but opted for the 6 quart model for the additional capacity and reserve power. Whether cakes, cookies, bread or dog biscuits, this machine won't fail. Kitchenaid forever. Fits under my counter with a 1/2 inch to spare, the tilt head model of the 4.5 and 5 quart wouldn't fit."

how did i bake without this before! January 29, 2010
faithb from charleston

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, quality

"i got this mixer last year and it is the best thing in my kitchen.
before i hardly made meatloaf or similar items because i felt like i did not mix it evenly. but this mixer makes fast work of it and mixes evenly. It mashes potatoes as smooth as you could want it . And i can mix up several large batches of cookies and even make a couple cakes in no time at all.

best of all i can do all of this and my arm is not tired from holding a mixer. the kitchenaid 6qt can handle large heavy jobs and has given me the confedence to try making things i would never have before.

cons- beaters are not dishwasher proof, noise

1 of 3 for a professional chef! January 29, 2010
ChefMike2 from Indianapolis, IN

Pros: capacity, construction, durability, Long-lasting, Number of speeds, Performs Well, quality, Value for Money

"In a professional kitchen, there are three(3) standards of equipment: wand mixer, 'R2D2' and a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. I own the original Pro 600, (when it was only available in gunmetal black). It has all the same features as the industrial model used in professional kitchens all across the United States. One of the coolest features is it's soft start, but at any speed the Pro can handle anything you throw at it. Cheesecake recipes, Pate a choux, bread dough, etc. I wouldn't recommend any other stand mixer for the home other than a KitchenAid."

Cathi from San Antonio, TX

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, Cord length, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to store, easy to use, Functional/Useful, Number of speeds, quality, size, True to Color, Variety of Colors

"I have been wanting a KitchenAid stand mixer for over 10-years, but never got around to purchasing one (and always wished I had when Christmas rolled around). Finally decided to purchase one this year and it cut my Christmas baking time in half. Can't wait to purchase some of the accessories and see what this baby can really do. An added bonus: The AWESOME color selection. If I don't return the mixer to the storage area right away, it can sit on my counter and matches my copper backsplash perfectly!"

Pjordan from New Hartford, NY

Pros: capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to use, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting, Material, Performs Well, quality, size, Value for Money

"I stopped making batches of cookies as it had become so tedious w/ my other mixer. Now that I have this, I continue to expand my holiday cookie making.
We make a traditional Italian pastry which uses 12 eggs and 7 cups of flour. It used to take much time and effort to knead the dough to its' proper consistency. This mixer does it with no effort.
I don't know how I managed to bake without it. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who loves to bake. I feel it is better to invest in this initially rather than purchase a series of less expensive mixers.

"I actually have a different brand of stand mixer sitting in my cupboard.that has the letters HB in it's name brand and rhymes with electrics ... it will sit there forevermore. That brand was so sad it used to rock and shimmy when I made a single batch of cookies! I used to have to hold the top with both hands because I thought it was going to fly apart.....

Nothing like the super strong KitchenAid Pro 600! I make double batches of cookies with everything and the kitchen sink included and it doesn't even pause. I live the freedom of letting it do its' stuff and not have to "hover" while I get on with preparing the next steps.

I bought lots of accessories to play with and can't wait to get started. The looks are fantastic and It is sitting displayed for all to envy when they come into the kitchen. I have to tell you it may be a bit spoiled but you just have to get a second 6 qt bowl and I have a cover for the both of them... Perfect for putting cookie dough to chill in the fridge and still woek on something else in the mean time. Just something that used to bug me, washing out the bowl before working on something else.

"I was given this as a Christmas present (2009) and as a replacement for my Artisian mixer that I've had for years. I loved the Artisian mixer, except when it came to kneading bread. The Artisian would severly shimmy across the counter. I would have to physically hold it down. The motor would slow quite a bit, struggle, and get very hot. It did everything else wonderfully. I made Challah using my new mixer. WOW...what a difference. The mixer barely moved. I left the room and let it knead. Absolutly no problems. The dough hook for this mixer looks like it's twice as big as the Artisian dough hook. It has an adjustable screw incase the beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl, or if they come too far down. The bowl is nice and wide making it super easy to put in ingredients. It's pretty too. I have the Nickle Pearl. I previously had the Empire Red, which I loved. My only grip was that it would look dirty very quickly and would get spotty because of the shiny finish. The Nickle Pearl is very pretty. This mixer is a bit big, but fits fine in my small kitchen which has almost no counter space. I love love love love this mixer."

"I love this machine!!!! I make bacon buns twice a year and it was always a hassle to mix the dough. My arms would get tired halfway through the mixing process. With this machine it mixes it beautifully and half the time. I can make 5 batches with no problem now and the family gets more bacon buns. Adding attachments as I can, but just love my new best friend in the kitchen."

"I would highly recommend that anyone needing a mixer in their kitchen, purchase this KitchenAid. My sister is an avid baker, and really wanted a mixer for Christmas, as my brother-in-law and I were discussing options, I said to him, well I have this great mixer, but hardly use it since I am more into hot foods and sauces. We gave her my mixer in mint condition of course(which I terribly miss), she called and could not stop crying. She uses it all the time and bakes cakes and pies for our 30+ Family Thanksgiving every year. It has been 4 years now and she still thanks me every Thanksgiving for being so generous. I really miss mixing Grand Marnier Fresh Whipped Cream, and making pasta."
