Just can't live without this mixer!

"I absolutely LOVE this mixer! It can handle just about any task you care to assign to it - from whipping egg whites to whipping mashed potates to kneading bread dough to whatever. This machine is like an extra pair of hands in my kitchen, and even better, it doesn't take up a lot of space. With the variety of attachments you can purchase for it, this mixer can be extremely versatile. As Alton Brown would say, 'Don't buy something that doesn't have several different uses!' This mixer can be cleaned easily and will offer years of dependability. The multiple speeds can handle the most delicate of tasks to the heavier ones, such as kneading bread. I think the only flaw is that I wished the top flipped up, similar to the old-fashioned stand mixers. This isn't really a big deal, though, because the bowl goes up and down by means of a handle on the side. I also wish that there are smaller bowls for little tasks, but I can usually use my hand mixer or blender for those. It would just be nice for the times when I need an extra pair of hands. Overall, this is a dream machine to use and truly indispensable in the kitchen."

"I absolutely love this mixer! This is a must-have for any serious home cook. While the artisan series is great, too, if you are serious about baking you MUST get the Pro 600. It's perfect for larger batches of cookies, brownies, etc, and for making large tiered cakes (and of course enough icing to cover them). The "stir" speed is a legitimate slow stir - it doesn't seem to throw my flour all over the kitchen like the slowest speed on the Artisan series inevitably does. There are several attachments, too, which are great for making homemade pasta (a favorite at our house) or ice cream if you don't want to buy a separate ice cream maker. I would also recommend the new beater blades (not made by KitchenAid) that scrape the sides of the bowl while the mixer is on."

"I love my new KitchenAid mixer. I got it for my birthday after having used a hand mixer for over 20 years, and I love it. I love being able to walk away from the task at hand while the mixer does its job. However, I would have liked it better if it could tilt back like the lower versions, to remove the wire whisk more easily. Also, I have noticed that when mixing the ingredients for a cake for example, I have to stop several times, lower the bowl, and scrape the sides and bottom with my spatula. I wish the mixing whisk could get closer to the bottom of the bowl, so not so much of the batter remains unmixed at the bottom of the bowl. I would also like to be able to buy additional bowls in different sizes, for additional jobs, such as the frosting of the cake, without having to wash it and reuse it, or for smaller jobs. That is why I gave it a 4 star. Overall though, I am thrilled with my new mixer and use it at least once a week."

"If there are a only a handful of kitchen essentials, this masterepiece ties for first place with its companion food processor! Cooking everything from meatloaf or a quadruple batch of meatballs for Italian Wedding Soup to triple batches of banana nut bread or sugar cookies? This mixer stands up to the test! I have had it for over a year now and have no idea how I lived without it for so long! It's a dream when making Royal Icing too! Just set it to the speed and let it do its thing! Easy to use, easy to clean. Just wish I had room to leave it out on my counter, as it is quite heavy!"

"I purchased this mixer with high expectations and was not disappointed. My favorite recipe is for 4 loaves of cinnamon raisin bread with takes a full 5 lb bag of flour, 5 eggs, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of sugar, 2 ½ - 3 cups water and milk and this mixer handles it all at one time. I was so happy with it I purchased one for my daughter that runs a day care and she gets full us of hers baking for the kids. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone and would purchase it again."

"I purchased this mixer after several neck operations, as I love to make bread, and was unable to knead anymore due to arm pain. This mixer has been a life saver, very powerful, and does a great job. Love the roller and cutter attachments for making pasta also. I Also have the grinder and greater/ slicer attachments that also work well and come in very handy.
Only fault I've found with this product, is the clips that hold the bowl in place while stirring heavy dough come off and you have to hold the bowl in place manually.
Awesome product"

"I should have bought this mixer years ago! This is the big mamma machine! I make a lot of bread for my family now because of this mixer's capacity and speed. This saves a lot of money at the grocery store and there are no preservatives in our home baked goods! The Kitchen Aid 600 series makes 1-4 loaves in no time at all! It can whip the stiffest egg whites in a snap! Need a quick double batch of cookies? No problem! Then there are all the attachments to ease all your kitchen chores. You can make fresh pasta and grind your own burger! The possibilities are almost endless. Bottom line, this mixer is worth every penny!"

"I grew up making pizza dough everyday using a huge floor model mixer. Since then I haven't had a 'real' mixer until we bought this KitchenAid Pro mixer. I have made pizza dough, bread, cookies, cakes and used all the tools. This is definately a "Pro" model as it's just like being in a bakery only I'm able to make family size recipes. It is very sturdy and powerful. I especially like how quick and easy it is to keep clean. We have a red one as it matches the other red things in our kitchen and so we actually leave it on the counter all the time. I would recomment this mixer to anyone that plans to make their own bread, pizza dough or other dough type recipes. Also the attachment choices are excellent... even and ice cream maker which we own!"

Best Christmas Present Ever!

"I got this mixer for Christmas last year (2007) and can't imagine life without it! I had a 5-quart Artisan stand mixer before, which was great, but with all the baking I do this model is much better. I love the stir feature. It has really cut down on flour accidents - flour flying out of the bowl as soon as you turn it on. It's also very stable. When I made bread dough in my old mixer, it would 'walk' across my counter. I had to stand there and keep and eye on it. This mixer barely even wobbles.
My only complaint is that because the bowl is so big, you can't beat small amounts of egg whites. If a recipe calls for 1 or 2 stiffly beaten egg whites, you'll need a different tool to do it.
Other than that, I think this is an awesome machine.
And KitchenAid has good customer service as well. The stir function on my mixer stopped working a couple of months ago. I called KitchenAid, they sent me a new mixer and a return label for me to pack up the old one and send back. No questions asked."

"As a self proclaimed chief and furniture maker not having a Kitchen Aid Pro for food prep would be like trying to make fine furniture with a hand saw and a hammer-can be done but the quality and consistency would not be the same. I have used my Kitchen Aid for breads, deserts, sauces and for the making of several hundred pounds of ground meat and sausage. I consider the Kitchen Aid Pro as an essential tool and would recommend one for the novice as well as the serious cook."

Biggest Time Saver Ever

"I thought I never would see a holiday out of the kitchen. This year baking was a miracle. We celebrate every Christmas by making a traditional sweet bread from Portugal. This recipe takes 5 lbs of flour, 1 dozen eggs, a pound of butter and so on.... My sister and I were a little skeptical that this mixer would be able to produce such a heavy load. In spite of our worries we started the bread and to our delight this machine not only handled this massive recipe, it kneeded it so well even our grandmother would have approved. Not only did we get out of the kitchen we were able to make several other of our favorite recipes in a quarter of the time. We love you Kitchenaid!"

DON'T KNOW HOW I LIVED WITHOUT IT

"Seriously this mixer never leaves my counter top and I don't like having things out! I continue to find more and more uses for it. I use it for large batches of meatloaf that I make for the freezer. I can't believe how wonderful the texture of the meatloaf is after being mixed with this mixer. So different then the texture when you mix by hand or even a hand mixer. Even my husband uses it for his artichoke dip. This mixer makes simple work of the blocks of cream cheese. I recommend this mixer to everyone. I would agree that it would be nice to have smaller bowls available but for the most part everything I'm making takes up all the room in the large bowl anyways. This was well worth the money. The quality is outstanding and it's very quiet. I don't think I'll need to buy another standing mixer in my lifetime. I'll probably have to add it to my will!"
