Kettleriffic!

I requested this kettle as a Christmas gift to replace a smaller electric kettle I have been using at work. My other kettle was made of plastic. With all of the information regarding plastics emitting chemicals that are unhealthy, I wanted a stainless steel kettle. I feel much safer knowing that my kettle is not leaching hazardous substances into the water I boil for tea, coffee and instant soups while at my workplace. The automatic shutoff feature is essential and eliminates any danger of running the kettle dry as could happen with a regular stove top kettle. In fact, I like it so much; I'm going to ask for another one to use at home when my birthday comes around this year.
Pros: safe clean boiled water, fast and efficient

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. We have been through numerous kettles over the years and finally decided an electric one would be better for our kitchen. The water boils very quickly in this kettle, which is great. We can boil only a small amount for an evening cup of tea without worrying it will scorch the pan. The auto shut off feature is also very convenient. I definitely recommend this kettle. It's well worth the price.

I have now purchased 10 Chef's Choice Cordless Electric Kettle 677. This is one of the best gifts for weddings, birthdays etc. Every one that receives from me raves about it. I own one at my home, office and have given to all of my family. You will never use a microwave again to boil water as it takes less time. The average age if used every day 3 to 4 times is about 3 years - so you get more for your money on this purchase.

Wonderful Kettle

This kettle is so great that I purchased one for my own home and one for my sister-in-law. She was complaining that members of her family allowed the water to boil away in their traditional whistling kettle. No danger of that happening with this unit and its safety shutoff feature. I love the clear water level guage ( my last one didn't have this). The water boils very quickly, so fast that I even use it to boil water for pasta and then pour it into the pot. I am very happy with this product.

I needed another cordless tea kettle and purchased this one. It works just fine. I gave it a 4 star rating only because it is stainless steel. I don't care for stainless steel, but the glass kettles were $30 to $40 more, and I didn't want to spend any more than I did. I am very satisfied otherwise.

Unhappy with purchase

1) Lid does not swing back far enough to make it easy to fill kettle from kitchen tap, it is very awkward.
2) I use this kettle mainly to heat water for one 10 ounce cup of coffee and the pot requires 18 ounces as a minimum.
3)It is hard to get a clear view of the gauge showing the amount of water in the pot.
The kettle does heat water quickly and is very attractive, just wish it were a lot more convenient to use.
Pros: Fast/ Speed, Appearance/ Design /Style
Cons: Difficult to use

My first purchase from Chef's was a good experience.
My tea kettle was delivered in a few days and in perfect
condition. The kettle is exactly as described described and heated the water very fast.. I have only used it a few times therefore I will not give an opinion about its
reliability.

I purchased this kettle for my boyfriend who wanted hot water at work. He liked it so much he took it home to his apartment. The water boils faster than in his on-stove kettle or in his microwave and is a neat pot from which to serve. It turns off automatically and is realtively quiet.

I purchased this to have a second electric kettle. This one heats quickly but is heavy and awkward to lift and pour. Most of the weight of the kettle is at the top of the handle.

I bought this kettle for use with a french press coffee maker, but it has quickly become a fixture on the counter and used for cereal, tea and hot cocoa for the whole family. It heats up faster that a stovetop kettle and looks great!

Absolutely Love It!

I purchased my first Chef's Choice Cordless Electric Kettle a year ago. I love it so much that I have since purchased an additional one for our Florida home - our renters love it too. We drink hot tea and hot chocolate and this unit heats the water quickly and is easy to keep clean. This unit takes less energy and is much faster to heat water than doing it on the stove with a kettle.
Pros: less energy than a stove

I just purchased this cordless electric Kettle 677. I could not believe the efficiency of this attractive tea kettle. I am a coffee drinker and now with this new kettle, I have enjoyed more tea lately. It is an attractive pot and I like the on and off switch with the light up feature. I am extremly pleased with this choice and would highly recommend it. I use the unused water that has cooled down on my house plants. I am glad I took a chance.

I have purchased three of these over the years. The first one had the automatic "off" switch fail a number of times and rust spots formed inside on the bottom of the kettle, though it is stainless steel. Considering I use this kettle several times every day, I still find it an alternative to heating water any other way. I even use it to heat water to add to a pot to cook, as it is quicker than the stovetop. Still, I do wish that the design had been updated. The first version I bought had black trim, but is no longer available. The third kettle has yet to be put into use, but the same plastic hindge is employed at the flip top, which has worn out under my heavy use on the previous two units. Overall, I would still recommend this unit.
Pros: speed of use, looks
Cons: cheap plastic in some areas, on/off switch no so durable

This kettle is the best thing I could have ever bought. After being home in Germany for 6 weeks I got hooked on cordless electric water kettles. Everybody over there had one. I saw many different kettles on my trip over there and started reviewing the kettles offered here in the US. This kettle got very good reviews on every web page I went to. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. Everything works the way it is supposed to work. I have not had one problem with this item. I use it to boil water for my babies bottles, for pasta, tea, and anything else you can think of where you would need boiling water. It boils so quick. Once you have one of these, you will never want to live without one again! (Nobody in Germany seems to live without it!!! :) ).

I bought this for my elderly father, who was making tea and instant coffee with water boiled on the stove. I worried about him forgetting that he'd put the kettle on, especially after the whistle stopped working, so I bought him this electric kettle. It works just as described -- and even before Dad got hearing aids, he could hear it click off when the water boiled.

I use this every day, first one I have ever bought, and just love it. Being only one in household, the size is perfect and it boils water instantly. If there were a downside which really isn't considering it only heats water, would be its not easy to clean as the heating/filter mechanisms on the inside tend to get in the way. I highly recommend this to anyone, the shut off is great and just lifts off the base with no fuss. Even has a little filter on spout. Try it, you will love it.

This
is a great electric kettle, and has become indispensable in my kitchen,
both for making tea and for canning. Need hot water fast? This is it!
We have hard water, so scale builds up, and periodically I put a little
vinegar in it, heat it a little bit, let it set for a while, and then
rinse it out. No big deal.
