Our old machine finally gave up and we searched to find another replacement, came across this one and decided to try.!!!!!!!!!!!!!Great, really does what it says, easy to use, the breads are fantastic, and the amount of time it takes from start to finish is good, but no bread machine is fast, but this one is good on time. Would recommend, and already have, to anyone. Dealing with the Chefs sight was great, fast delivery, no hassles, etc. I don't usually write or review products, I think it is a waste of time because bad reviews aren't dealt with anyway, however this was so exceptional I felt compled to review it and share the experience.

I bought my bread maker about 6 months ago. I had never made bread in a machine before. Overcooked the first loaf. Cooked it on the wrong setting. After that, it has been just great. I love the sweet bread it makes. I just take it out and make cinnamon rolls with it. It makes my life so much easier. I love kneading bread, but when you are in hurry the breadmachine is there. Thanks Cuisinart

I was so excited to finally purchase a bread machine but I've not had much luck in getting an edible loaf of bread yet. Now, understand, I'm a good cook of everything else, but I've not had a lot of experience in bread making so I've tried to measure everything just like it says, and I've put the ingredients into the machine exactly in the order given, and while it smells absolutely wonderful the bread doesn't turn out quite right. I wanted to make low carb bread for my husband but that was awful, so I tried two other recipes for me. None of them have worked but I haven't given up yet. The machine is truly easy to understand. It doesn't jump around on my counter. It didn't smoke or give off foul smells on the first use. I love being able to watch the process in the window. The machine is sturdy and probably does a great job, but I just haven't gotten the knack yet. So in the old saying "it isn't you - it's me" i think that's probably true. I'll keep trying!

Looks great and works very well. I have had my best luck using the 2lb option for some reason and it makes a nice loaf. I love having the ability to take the knead bar out and reshape the dough so it doesn't have a hole when done cooking. It is louder than my old one but you get used to it quickly. It has a lot of options I haven't tried yet and I am looking forward to creating new recipes. Well worth the price.

We bought this about 2 weeks ago on the recommendation of a friend who bought this same model several months ago. We think it is easy to use and well-made - we respect the Cuisinart brand as we have other kitchen appliances made by them.
We've made about 6 loaves of bread so far. All but one turned out great. We intend to try most of the recipes in the book that came with the bread maker - all sound very appealing. It's very cool to let the machine do all of the work for you! Haven't tried the delayed start feature yet but think that will be handy esp. on work mornings.
Would definitely recommend this bread maker.

Makes great dough on the dough settings. Multiple dough settings allow for many types of doughs, from bread to brioche, to artisan doughs with slow rises. The recipe book has a good variety of recipes. I made brioche dough with amazing results!
Baked bread is good, although the crusts tend to be on the thick side.

Good investment

I understand some of the reviews from other persons where they had issues with the quality of their finished product, but as bread making goes there are many factors no matter if its hand made or a machine, humidity, heat, age of yeast etc. There does need to be a certain amount of supervision involved to get the "perfect" loaf. I tried many of the included recipes before finding the right one and had to tweak it to fit my taste and cooking environment , once that was done I was very pleased with the results.
It can get a little noisy when it is kneading a heavy loaf and can use some scrapping down of the sides to get all ingredients incorporated.
I do suggest using a better grade of flour if possible, King Arthur is all I use and gives the best results. I also found using olive oil instead of butter in most of the recipes gave a better result to the moister and texture of the bread.
So do not be afraid to play with the recipes and modify them to suit your taste and needs.
I love the handles on the sides since I store it on a lower shelf.

When the Bread Maker arrived it was damaged. I contacted Customer Service and could not have received better service. Three days later I had a replacement.
First impression upon opening the box was to observe an attractive and well produced product.; it went on to produce a very good first loaf. It is easy to use and the Recipe Book was very explicit , comprehensive and helpful.
I am sure we are going to enjoy making our own breads for many years to come.

Great bread maker with extensive cycle choices

I love my Cuisinart Bread Maker!! It is simple and easy to use and the number of cycles to choose from is terrific. My previous bread maker had 11 cycles but this one has 16. I had been looking for a second one but it HAD TO HAVE A JAM CYCLE. None of the brands I reviewed had this available but Cuisinart does. I make fresh jam often. It makes small amounts that are used quickly in our household of 2. It makes in less than 2 hrs, so it is easy to set and leave it while I do something else.

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease (Gluten intolerent) in January of this year. Bread, as I once knew it, is OFF THE MENU !! This breadmaker has opened up a door, I thought was shut. It is easy, convenient and it was shipped on time and delivered as Chef's said it would be. Great experience. I would recommend it to anyone in the market. Great value as well. Good luck and good eating!

It did take me a bit of time to find a great recipe. i scoured the web for a 5 star recipe for white bread and I found one. I have fluffy white bread.
For my white bread recipe, I do "proof" yeast first. 2 1/4 teaspoons of bread machine yeast and 2T sugar in 110-115 water for 10 minutes. If the yeast looks good and about 99% of the time it looks great, I add the rest of the ingredients and start the machine.
Also, adding gluten flour (I use 1T) helps keep the bread fluffy.

Don't waste your money

I bake a lot of bread. I bought this because I thought that it would save me time, and I could run errands while I had bread baking. I had these grand ideas of walking into my house on a cold, rainy day to the smell of freshly baked bread. Well, what I walked in on was the smell of nicely burned bread. I adjusted settings, and tried over 12 different recipes. I even used some of the recipes that come in the instruction booklet. However, I could not get a loaf of bread to be perfectly baked. Most of the time the loaves were overcooked and would not come out of the pan. When I turned down the settings, the bread was never cooked all the way through. Needless to say, I am back to baking my bread the old fashioned way-by hand. As a personal chef, I certainly know how to bake bread as I have made thousands of loaves over the years, however, this machine was a waste of my money. I returned it.

..A VERSATILE BREAD and PASTRY MACHINE

...I decided to try this machine, replacing my Japanese model. I found it superb. It bakes perfectly and has an easy to follow recipe booklet for almost anything you would want to make. It prepares not just bread----but pastry and pizza dough as well as any type of dough . A tremendous feature is the "BEEP ALARM" to signal its time for the final tastings and to add fruit, raisins, spices, candies or nuts before the final baking. Studying the manual for a few minutes and practing with the machine a little clearly points out its versatlity and endless possibilities.

I've attempted to make bread with this breadmaker several times now, but with no success. I followed the instructions to the letter, and used recipes from the book that came with it. (This isn't my first beread maker.) None of the loaves rose as much as they should, so they were dense & hard. Twice the machine didn't completely mix the ingredients together, which resulted in inedible bricks. I'm extremely disappointed.

No Substitute for Fresh Breads and Doughs

I previously had an original William-Sonoma breadmaker and the bread pan did not wear well, which I replaced with this Cuisinart last month. I love being able to pause and remove the bread beater when the alert signals, so that it doesn't leave a large hole in the bottom of the loaf. As with a prior review, I too have had to scrape the dough off the sides while in the mixing stage, incorporating the dough into the center. I've found this with both breadmakers, so I'm assuming it's probably standard in all of them. It's really no trouble, because I don't leave it unattended. Checking on the mixing stage allows me to either add more liquid or flour, based on the consistency of the dough. It excels at making pizza dough, dough for sticky buns, oven-baked breads; a joy to work with. I've found that having a good bread machine cookbook is imperative to fully enjoying and appreciating the ease of function and capabilities this machine offers. How wonderful to be able to control the ingredients and have the freshest and highest quality breads with so little effort.
Pros: amazingly easy/fast, quick clean up
