The 22-slot Henckel knife block I received is perfect for my needs. It's very heavy, so it won't jiggle around when one goes to put a knife into a slot. It's a warm beige as pictured.
All seven rows of slots are open at both ends to accommodate blades up to 10" long (top two rows); the scissors row can accommodate blades up to 7 1/2" long.
The layout of the slots is a little different than pictured. Here is the layout and slot dimensions of what I got. Here are the details that I was looking to see when reading reviews:
Top row starting from left to right:
Slot 1. Combination sharpening steel/knife slot. There is an approx 5/8" square on the left side opening to a 1 1/2" x 1/8" slot.
