This gravy/fat separator is of heat-resistant glass and has a graduated measurement stenciled on the side for easily viewing the volume of your stock. The top is a strainer to use if you wish to remove celery, onions, herbs from your stock. The mesh in the strainer top is easily separated from the rubber gasket for easy cleaning. It worked like a charm and is superior to my prior plastic separator which cracked during use.
Pros: easy to use, construction, capacity, Easy to Clean/Wash, quality, Appearance/ Design /Style

A Great Gift

This was a Christmas gift to my son, who does a great deal of cooking. He was thrilled with it, in part because it was heat resistant glass. He has had other fat separaters and strainers, but all have come to a sorry end because they will not withstand high temperatures...they have a tendency of becoming disfigured!
Pros: Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to use, construction, Appearance/ Design /Style, Performs Well, durability, Functional/Useful, capacity

I am very pleased with this separator. I love the 4 cup volume, the glass construction (I don't hear it crack every time I use it & it comes perfectly clean in the dishwasher), the strainer lid & that it fits in my pull-out storage drawer. The spout was a little awkward to get used to, just being at a different angle than my last one, but I'm sure I'll adjust to it. I'm so glad to have finally found a separator that seems to be made for use with hot liquids!

I have used plastic fat separators in the past - they always cracked from the heat. The glass separater is better. I love the strainer. I think the item is overpriced. I am having trouble cleaning the small spout. Still this glass separator is better than plastic any day.

Just kept forgetting to get it. So glad I have it now. I'm used to doing it the hard way. (You know cooling in the fridge until the fat rises to the top and gets solid) Then re-warming to make soup etc. Now, I don't have to lose all that time. I love this strainer!!

Glass spout is asking to be snapped off. I don't have an isolated protected storage location for my kitchen tools. This won't last 2 weeks and the neck will be broken. Received with the spout chipped. Sent it back.

Purchased this item specifically to use at Thanksgiving this year. Never have been good at making gravy as it usually turns out quite greasy even tho I tried to strain it. This product worked like a dream. There was virtually no grease! Especially liked that it is glass instead of plastic. Clean up was very easy. Bought the 4-cup size. Look forward to using this often when making gravies and soups.

This was my big purchase for Thanksgiving and I loved having it for making turkey gravy and for making Turkey Rice Soup. I had a plastic one x 2 that both crazed and cracked. This one I feel will last forever! Thanks!
