Wonderful pan and useful is so many ways that non-stick isn't. Can sear and saute and scramble and go directly from stove top to oven. Holds enough for large gatherings too. Clean up is great. LOVE, LOVE this pan

This pan ROCKS!

I'd just bought an entire set of tri-ply clad cookware by another manufacturer, but wanted a large lidded sauté pan, too. Wishing to get the best deal on a high-performance sauté pan--and not particularly caring whether the brand was the same as the set I'd bought--I purchased THIS one sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2008.
I've never regretted my decision. I LOVE this pan! As of this writing (Jan. 8, 2009) I've already used it for more things than I can count, on the stovetop and in the oven alike. It sautés evenly, simmers wonderfully, cleans up beautifully. I even made pot roast for a crowd and baked a large pineapple upside-down cake in it! Its performance across the board is top-notch. And because it is so versatile, it delivers a lot of bang for the buck...at ANY price.
Pros: great overall performance and versatility
Cons: none

I have had my 5.5 qt. pan for 3 years now and my husband always asks how I ever lived without it! Well, it's true! It does everything! Sautes, braises, sears, roasts, steams...you name it, this little wonder does it! If I was stranded on a desert island, this pan and my MAC knife would be all I would ever need to have for cooking! This pan is worth its weight in gold, and a wonderful value for the price!

I love this pan. When it arrived it seemed a little smaller than I envisioned, but I quickly discovered it holds a lot of food. Cooking is very even and it does not stick. Cleanup is a breeze. No wonder Cook's Illustrated rated this with a perfect score for sauté pans. The price point on this pan is spectacular.

At 3 1/2 quarts, the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Saute Pan is just the right size for easily cooking every day meals using one pan. The nicley tapered sides allow for going from sauteeing an array of vegetables or searing proteins to adding a sauce or broth for braising that saves both prep and clean up time.
The triple ply bottom cooks foods evenly without the
extra weight of some more expensive saute pans, and Cuisinart's usual design thoughtfulness has provided a generously sized helper handle.
Food cooks quicker and requires less heat;a good energy saver.
The gleaming lid is properly tight-fitting, and so much lighter than glass lids.
In the kitchen, I'm never without: an array of specialized prep tools
Favorite Brand: no one favorite--whatever works best for the job

I am 67 years old and have never owned a really good saute pan. I've only used it once. It did a very nice job on the meal I made. The clean up was a breeze. This pan really holds the heat after the burner is shut off. I like that fact very much. I'm completely satisfied with this pan.

Was going to buy the All-Clad to match my set but It was just too expensive.
This is the pan that I end up using when you start out making "stuff" and then realize that the 3 qt. is just not gonna hold it all.
With a month of use, so far I don't see enough difference in the two brands to warrant the extra cost. The lid handle is stamped round steel, but.........its a lid handle!
Time will tell.
Pros: capacity, construction, Easy to Clean/Wash, Performs Well, Value for Money
Cons: none so far

I was in search for a pan this size, at at good price and they are not as easy to find as you might think. I wanted the helper handle and even heating throughout, not just on the bottom.
I have only one suggestion.
The handle is a bit too slim. It seems to be Cuisinart's signature handle so I wasn't too surprised since I have one of theirs already, but smaller. It would have been nice for the handle to be slightly wider to make gripping more comfortable, but all-in-all, it's a great value, easy to clean, has a beautiful finish and I'm sure it will be with me for years to come.

I am really impressed with this pan. It performs VERY well for a pan of this price range. The best part is the 'wrap-around' aluminum core at the bottom edge of the pan - it really helps avoid scorching at the edges that have experienced with other pans.

I have the 5.5 quart and it's a joy to cook with because of the deep sides, width and tight lid, excellent retaining heat. It's great for creating whole meals in a pan, browning first (stands in for a 12" skillet), then steaming sauces and vegetables together. Even a couple bags of spinach at the end fits atop nicely with the cover on. Excellent size for family/friends' night meals and make ahead meals for the week.
Pros: good design for deep dishes

After many years of settling for lesser quality pans, I decided to move up to a fully clad pan. The price differential made this pan my choice and I've never had a regret. Cooking on stainless steel gives unsurpassed results and this pan can take the high heat needed to sear major cuts of beef. It is large enough to cook for my entire hungry family at one time as opposed to my former 10" saute pan with the aluminum disk on the bottom which made me cook in batches. I find the heat regulation on the clad pan better than on the disk pan as well. I seared a beautiful roast the other night and then put the entire pan in the oven with vegetables around the meat. It was a dinner which won rave reviews. You won't be sorry with this pan!
