I have needed a good double boiler for some time. This is marvelous. The shape of the bowl is just right for making custards, and it fits beautifully with the sauce pan I purchased.
I plan to have a wonderful time during the holiday season making my cremes,custards; as well as the icings for my holiday cakes.

Love the versatility of this pot and the tri-ply construction evenly distributes the heat. Contrary to a couple of the other reviews, the rounded bottom is a plus in the pans design in that it facilitates the whisking or stirring of the pans contents. It is the best and last double boiler for me! Highly recommended!
In the kitchen, I'm never without: A glass of wine.

This product is big enough to hold a large recipe (puddings and pies for example). It is easy to control the heat process to the finish and the handle is properly positioned for good control and handling. The heat is easily controlled as well, and the cooking process is nearly foolproof. Nothing has scorched in it since I started using it. The double boiler fits on 2, 3 and 4 quart pans in our Cuisinart set and the cover completes it.

I just purchased several pieces of this cookware to replace a 20 year old stainless set. I love everything about this cookware except for this double boiler insert. I loved the fact that it fit any of the cookware sauce pans (2, 3 or 4 qt). However, I hate the rounded bottom on the pan. First of all, it rolls around in my cupboard and second, it is useless as a standalone pan. My previous set had a flat bottom double boiler pan which then could also be used as an additional 3 qt. pan - a. very efficient use of material and dollars. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to keep this item or return it. Other than the specific design of this piece, I look this cookware and have greatly enjoyed using the other pieces - cooks evenly and washes up great.

I loved this double boiler. It reminds me of making puddings, fudge and all kinds of things when I was a little girl in my grandmas kitchen. I like the unique shape and as always Cuisinart craftsmanship excells all expectation. Great Product.
