I used this particular slicer at a friend's home when she asked me to slice thin pieces of French Bread. She wanted just half of the baguette sliced but it was so wonderful to actually be able to slice 1/4" pieces of FRENCH bread I just did the whole baguette. Never in my life have I used such a perfect knife. The one I ordered has a special place in my kitchen. No one gets to used but yours truly. Heavy, so less force, and perfectly weighted. I have about 20 or expensive knives that I thought were the bees knees. This blows them out of the water.
