OXO Mango Splitter
OXO Mango Splitter : No-mess pitting and
slicing. This ingenious tool lets you remove mango seeds
and cut fruit in half. The corer/slicer cuts cleanly
through the fruit and leaves almost nothing behind

I love this product. In the past I rarely ate mangos because of it being so messy. With the mango splitter the mango has 2 perfect halves. Using a spoon the meat is easily removed from the skin. I eat a mango each day now.,

I love mango, but they can be really tough to pare and peel. This tool makes it so easy to remove the hard pit and the method for removing the flesh shown on the product package is so much easier than trying to peel the fruit.

I received this as a Christmas gift and really like it. I cut the mango with a dish towel below so that I am able to completely cut through the skin. It does leave a little flesh on the pit, but well worth it.

Mangoes are often oddly shaped making it difficult to judge where the seed is located. I cut four mangoes and only one worked as advertised. All needed substantial force especially to start through the skin.
Two were fairly ripe and the pressure required to use this tool caused the bottom of the fruit to collapse. One had the seed enough off center that I could not complete the cut and resorted to using a knife.
The quality of this tool appears to be good - just as well
considering the force required.

I already had one of these but bought one for my nephew after he told me he cut his finger trying to cut up a mango. Hopefully there will be no more bloodshed in the name of good food.

This does a great job coring mangos...the only feature it could have that would make it even better is if it were able to somehow score the remaining fruit to make it easier to peel.

This is one of those gadgets I kept looking at while thinking I really didn't need it. I also like to get all the fruit I paid for and I thought too much would be lost if I didn't separate the pit myself. This gadget cuts close to the pit and the rest is perfect - frankly, I have mangled mangoes while trying to pit them on my own.
Great gadget - I recommend it.

This is an easy kitchen gadget to use. And it works wonderfully. My 2 year old loves mangos and before I got the Mango slicer - I would buy pre cut mango at the store. Not anymore. This is fast and easy to use. I love it.

Mangoes used to be a devil to peel and prepare. A partially peeled one would slip around and get bruised, and I'd end up wasting a lot of the meat because I couldn't figure out how to cut around the pit. This gadget is so easy and convenient. I often score the skin of the mango with a paring knife--making 1/2-inch-long cuts--where the splitter blades will cut through the skin so that it doesn't smoosh a ripe mango when I push down on it. Works great. Now I don't avoid recipes that call for mangoes!

I've seen these for years, but until I got the OXO last week I wouldn't have believed how easy it makes it! The OXO apple cutter/corer takes a lot of strength to push through, but this moves almost effortlessly through a ripe mango, saving tons of time when I made a mango ice cream. In general, I'm not a fan of single-purpose gadgets, but I never want to go back to the old way of trying to extract usable chunks from a mango.

For years I have battled mango's when I was cutting them. This splitter is great. I put a towel under the mango before cutting it so the splitter goes all the way through. All I have to do is peel it and I have a nice looking slice of mango rather than the odd shaped slices I had before purchasing my splitter.

WOW! Pitting a mango just got way easy. No mess, no bleeding fingers and it takes about 2 seconds! A great kitchen utensil for the mango lover.

This slicer works great on any size mango. And I find there is much less waste than with using a knife. I highly recommend this slicer!

A bit tough to slice through the skin initially and might slide, but then slices nicely through the fruit itself. Leaves a bit of fruit at the top and bottom of the fruit. I personally hate pitting a mango, so this was a welcome addition to my kitchen, making the job much easier.
