Best crockpot I have ever owned
April 4, 2009 Davestudfrom Flemington, NJ
Pros: even heat, no hot spots
"I have had at least a half a dozen slow cookers before. All of them, without exception, ran too hot and overcooked the food. The one I replaced, a large Rival crockpot, would actually bring the contents to a full rolling boil on the lowest setting. I ruined many a meal with that unit and decided to replace it. I received my new Euro-Pro last week and have cooked three meals in it so far. I made a whole roasted chicken that I slow cooked on low for 10 hours that was the best roasted chicken I ever had, tender, but not falling apart, and oh so juicy. The heat is evenly distributed and there were no burnt sections like I had with the Rival. The Euro-Pro has rekindled my love of slow cooking, and I could not be more pleased than I am with this cooker."

A Good Purchase
January 10, 2009 VTCookingfrom Vermont
Pros: separate inserts for different dishes
"I bought this slow cooker for my daughter as a birthday gift. She has found it a great way to fix a hot meal for her family that is ready to eat when getting home from work at the end of the day. It takes a little planning to get a meal ready to start cooking before work in the morning but with this cooker it is easy; has separate containers to store prepared meals in the fridge overnight and can be set to cook in the morning. A great gift for the slow cooker in your family."

Wouldn't give this one to anybody!
January 8, 2009 ForeverCookingfrom New York
"I used my first crock pot for the first 18 years of married life and finally it gave up, so a year ago Christmas, my husband purchased this Euro-Pro slow cooker to replace my old one. At first glance I noticed a large scratch on it and had to return the entire cooker to Chef's but they were great and replaced it. I have tried it about 5 times and each time it seems to take forever to cook, no matter what I'm preparing. I also hate the lid. There is way too much room for the lid to slide back and forth and doesn't hold in the heat. Just the other day I made a stew and after 8 hours on high I moved the contents into a large stock pot and cooked it another 2 hours to cook the carrot and celery slices to the right stage. I'm planing on sending this back yet again to Chef's but to be replaced by another brand all together. I will never purchase another product by Euro-Pro!"

Excellent Value & Sturdy Construction
October 26, 2008 TRenofrom Reno, Nevada
"You can buy this product with confidence.
First let me dispel previous comments, which are based upon inaccurate expectations.
1) No slow cooker I have owned has had a tight fitting lid. This is not a defect, but by design. Otherwise at the high setting, the contents would boil over. The fact this particular cooker is oval, and has a huge capacity would cause it to cook slower than other, smaller capacity cookers.
2) Whenever you cook dried beans, such as with ham hocks, you MUST first use the over-night soak method! Putting any dried beans into a slow cooker (except perhaps split peas or lintels which are tiny) without soaking them, everything else will be done hours before they are.
This cooker is sturdy, has adjustable temperature, and the necessary clear to read LCD display. It has a big capacity, and the buffet insert is great for entertaining, keeping two dishes at serving temp.
I own this unit, and the All-Clad, and they are of equal quality. It is on sale at $99, and a good bargain!"

Takes FOREVER to cook!
March 1, 2008 DanielleWIfrom Wisconsin
"I bought this as a gift for someone for Christmas. First of all, the lid did not fit snugly on the product. We tried to trun it every way, it seemed to be warped or something. Secondly, it took a lot longer then usual to cook the food. We happened to have 2 slow cookers cooking the exact same food side by side and the food in the other slow cooker was done hours before the food in this one. We even had it set on high.
I did send the prodcut back and am exchanging it for another slow cooker. I have to say that the customer service from Chefs.com has been nothing but positive."

Euro Pro vs All Clad
January 4, 2008 Suslilfrom Elizabethton,TN
"Well I would not say dont purchase this item. However if you use it to cook soup beans with ham, not a good idea. It took three days of cooking to get the beans done. I did call Chefs and they are going to take back the item, they think it might be faulty. I have requested a replacement for this Euro Pro I'm now getting the ALL CLAD slow cooker. We will see how that goes."
