When we got a ceramic cooktop the old cast iron wok stained the cook top. It was too small anyway. So we got this one about 3 years ago. It is great! It has a lot of capacity, is very easy to clean - and even though I use stainless tools it is unmarred. I did find it was helpful to hang it on the side of a base cabinet - easier to get at - and it's good looking anyway. There are cheaper - but I doubt better.
With our new glass surface cooktop, we could not use our old wok that allowed us to get the best heating. The new wok just wasn't cutting for my stir-fry chef of a husband. We decided to bite the pricey bullet and purchase this piece. It's great. The cast iron enables it to heat better and it's sooo much sturdier than the other options. Did I mention that it's beautiful. All of the Le Creuset products are like displaying a small piece of art or a splash of color in the kitchen. Is it worth the price??? I guess it depends on how often you stir fry. It is alot of money!!!!
Pros: beautiful, easty to clean
Cons: pricey
