None better! December 20, 2007
TabletopJoe from Philippi, WV

"The first thing I noticed about this thing was the weight! This thing could cause some serious damage if dropped on...well...anything! It is made just as well and just as sturdy as my KitchenAid Artisan mixer (not to mention they match perfectly in Empire Red). One of the first things I tried was the Ice Crush feature. I filled it about halfway with ice, pushed the button, and three seconds later, my blender was full of snow. My wife and I stood there with our mouths hanging open! My old Oster blender just stirred ice around. We make frozen drinks all the time, and the consistency is SO smooth. We've also made marinades in it, and the results were outstanding. This thing has so much power, it barely takes any time at all to finish blending anything put in it. A word of caution: even though these blades look similar to other blender blades, they're not! Early on I used a rubber spatula to scrape it out after making a frozen drink, and the next thing I knew, the spatula was shredded! These babies are sharp! It's also simple to clean; just wipe it off! You cannot go wrong with this machine."

Awesome January 7, 2008
Expert from Philadelphia, PA

"These blenders ROCK. I use the blender to make smoothies almost every morning, and have no complaints. It liquefies ice and frozen fruits in seconds, and is a cinch to clean up. My previous kitchenaid blender lasted about 5 years under the same usage conditions. The old blender still works, I just need to replace the coupler. Once replaced it will be my backup to the new one i just purchased."

No Problems So Far..... January 4, 2008
krzykk from Angleton, TX

"I purchased this item for Christmas for myself and I have used it about 6 times. I love it, it makes great milkshakes and also mixed drinks. I have not had any problems with it so far. The base is very heavy duty and so is the pitcher. It does not squirm around on the counter while in use, I can walk away and leave it blending. I love it and at this point feel that it was well worth the extra money."

The Ultimate Blender January 4, 2008
DFoodie from Maine

"I have purchased several blenders (decent brands) but there is nothing like a Kitchenaid. I think the reviewer that had a problem with the leaking base must have just had a bad one that missed quality control and should probably just puchase the replacement part. Mine performs perfectly. The speed and power is better than expected (only because my expectations were down due to other purchases, including cuisinart) and this one is the only one with a large 56 oz. container and a high power motor. The other benefit I find is that although the bottom is not removable for cleaning the blades, the bottom interior is large enough to get your hand in with a sponge without worrying too much about cutting your hands on the blades. Be careful not to use an abrasive cleaner on the polycarbonate or it will haze. Overall, it just confirms my passion for Kitchenaid!
Don't bother looking at any other machines!"

Blender Jar Leaks December 28, 2007
Floridacurmudgeon from Florida

"The base of this blender is solid, the blades are sharp, the motor is powerful. BUT.... The carafe (they call it a polycarbonate blender jar) has a major design flaw. It leaks and because there is no way to tighten the blender blade assembly, there is no way to fix it. I purchased this upscale KitchenAid because I had assumed that it was better made than lower priced commonly available models and did not anticipate warranty problems. I purchased it in December 2006. We rarely used it but I started using it recently for SlimFast diet mixes [with a few ice cubs] and almost immediately had a leakage problem in the jar base. Unlike most blenders (even other KitchenAid models) the polycarbonate jar base that spins is not removable or replaceable, and it appears to be riveted on the inside. The fact that the base is not removable for cleaning is a problem, but it is even worse that there is a rather obvious design flaw in that there is no way to tighten the blade assembly. I have found many others that have had this problem. . KitchenAid would not honor the warranty first because I was unable to locate a sales slip even though I had registed the purchase on their site and then when I provided the purchase date they said that it was manufactured in May 2006 and was therefore outside the one year warranty. A replacement jar is $64.95, a very large part of the $90+ I paid for it originally. They will not acknowledge the design flaw or even sell me a replacement jar (carafe) at their cost. I am fed up with KitchenAid's disregard of a customer who has loyally purchased more than a dozen KitchenAid items, including the top of the line stand mixers for my three adult children. They have lost me as a customer with their refusal to acknowledge what is obvious--there is a design flaw in their jar design."

Super product! November 30, 2007
Mizzy from Princeton, NJ

"From soups to nuts, this machine is a must have for any cook! Not only does this blender perform as promised, the clean up is joy! Done in a snap with no protruding buttons to catch the prep material, just a simple wipe down. It is easy to take apart, wash and reassemble. The sturdy grip legs keeps the machine in perfect balance protecting counter/table and cook."

Very versatile November 16, 2007
cylin from San Francisco

"This blender changed the way I think about blenders. Before, I always had mediocre blenders that burnt out after a few years. This one is worth the money and is powerful! I love that I can make fresh bread crumbs in seconds by pulsing it and use it all the time to make sauces, salsas, dips, and pureed soups. The stout jar is more used friendly than the tapered type."

The BEAST!! October 25, 2007
zbq4bbq from Buckeye State

"That is what I call this thing!!

It replaced my old, tired Hamilton Beach model. I did a lot of looking around and this is the one I bought. In red to go with the other Kitchenaid appliances.

I have been making smoothys with this almost every other day for about 3 months and it will do things that would have made the old HB choke! Lots of power.

Smoothy ingredients and a tray and a half of ice all in the pitcher at one time. Barely even knows it's there.

The old HB would have choked on 4 or 5 cubes!!

Well worth the money!!"
