This Kitchen Aid 5 Qt Plus series Stand Mixer is a dream come true! Lots of power, can handle anything I put in there. Love the deep bowl, keeps splattering to a minimum. Love the design and the gloss cinnamon color.

I chose this model, in the black onyx, after researching the others in the line of Kitchen-Aid because of its stronger motor than the Artisan and lower cost than the higher end model. And for the few dollars more than the Artisan, it made sense to go up in scale for more power. I like the lift also versus the tilt. A friend has the tilt and you can't see in the bowl unless you turn it off. It's a must-have for every serious baker and cook. If you think you're doing fine with a handheld mixer, there is no comparison. Your baking will improve 100% with the right tools -- this is one to be reckoned with. Efficienct, allowing for multi-tasking, so you can walk away. Dependable, durable, sturdy, easily wipes clean. Excellent creaming, beating, whipping. Fantastic volume for angel food cakes, meringues, glossy, smooth frostings. You will go to places you never thought you would attempt, e.g., bread making - the dough hook kneads well. Build your inventory with a choice of many add-on attachments - I have the wonderful pasta maker. This is a wonderful investment.

I was undecided on the artesian and the pro and I think I made the best decision. The wife just made breead last night with the pro and no problems!! Also fits very snuggly under the cupboards on the counter. Great Job KitchenAid

We received this as gift, but for a while I continued to use my old hand-held mixer. Finally, when making lots of batches of almond cookies, I decided to take this out and try it. Now I kick myself for not trying it right away. It mixes large amounts of dough effortlessly. And everything blends together, unlike when I used my hand-held mixer.

I received this beautiful piece of technology from my wonderful children for Christmas. The attachments make blending, whisking and kneading effortless and efficient. I was somewhat surprised with the power generated by a 450-watt motor! With the 5 quart capacity bowl, there's no worry about splatter or spills. I can't wait to start ordering attachments that range from pasta rollers to sausage stuffers! The rainbow of colors to choose from is always a plus. Mine is a striking, cobalt blue -- a very majestic addition to the kitchen counter.

I recieved my kitchenaid as a gift from my then fiance. At first I was a little intimidated by it because I was taught to do most things the old-fashioned way by hand. When I first tried making pasta dough with it. I couldn't believe how fast and easy it was! When I was completely convinced it was the way to go, I started buying the attatchment. I now own the pasta rollers and cutters, the grinder, (which I use to grind my meat and cheese for raviolis). I even have the sausage maker to make our own venison sausage. I love it. It saves time and makes every project "do-able". pmss

My mom bought this for me for my birthday. I'd never used one before, so I was nervous. She told me to start with something easy, like boxed brownies, or icing. I started with an icing and was squeeling with baker's-glee when I saw how smooth it turned out. It was gorgeous and the texture was as smooth as silk. The true test came when my 15 year old son with special needs said he wanted to make brownies. He can barely boil water, let alone bake brownies, but I let him give it a whirl with the KitchenAid, and Voila!....easy as pie. He now makes us brownies all the time with the KitchenAid and this boosts his confidence. Buy this for yourself or a very special relative. Husbands, if you're reading this, you can't go wrong with this purchase.

I recieved this as an early wedding / christmas present. My In laws had some issues with the empire red, which is the color i had asked for!!! Anyhow, I absolutely love this machine!!! I cannot imagine making cookies or mashed potatoes or anything without it. It will get used a lot more when we move back to the states, as right now its not used as much as I would like, but thats just because of the power difference. :-) If you are looking for that perfect mixer I would totally buy this one again!!! Even thinking about ordering one for a couple for their wedding present!!! Plus I love all the accessories that go with it!!!

Unsurpassed power even on the stickiest bread doughs. This mixer didn't even get warm after nearly 10 hours of use making tamales! The attachments replace the need for many additional appliances-but they are pricey. Make sure you explore the additional warranty options available from KitchenAid-they are very affordable. By the way-my Mom has been using HER KitchenAid mixer for over 40 years now, and she wouldn't replace it for anything. I was hoping to get hers-but she told me to buy my own!

I love my new KitchenAid Professional 5Qt. Mixer. I have had my 4Qt KitchenAid for 43 years and the only reason why I bought a new one was due to the fact I wanted a larger bowl capacity. There is nothing wrong with my old one and have never had it fixed all those years. I just have to get use to placing the bowl back on the mixer, it is a little hard to pop it in place. But I am sure with time it will loosen up. Also a little noisier than my old one.

I use my KA stand mixer for a variety of purposes but the main task is kneading bread dough. This KA handles all my dough kneading with ease. The slow start feature ensures it doesn't make a mess on start up. The wide bowl and spiral bread hook is an improvement over the narrower taller bowl and the "C" style dough hook.
Like any KA stand mixer, the hinged front hub can take a variety of attachments. I have used the KA food grinder attachment and this mixer handles it with ease.
I haven't used it to whip cream or egg whites so I can't attest to those functions.
I keep my KA on the counter as I use it a couple times a week, so it's good looks is a plus.

Wish I bought one of these years ago. I purchased it to make large batches of sugar cookies and royal icing. Does both easily. To my husbands delight it also quickly and easily makes bread. Only concern is I have adjusted the bowl as far down as I can but everly once in a while it sounds like the whisk is hitting the bowl. Need to call customer service. Really like the drop bowl as opposed to the tilt head.

I was very happy with this mixer up until I tried using it to whip cream or eggs. I ended up with a whipped top layer and a soupy mess on the bottom, every time. I don't know whether it was an adjustment defect in my particular mixer, or if this is common to this model. I did try to adjust the bowl height per the instructions, but it tested out at the proper level, so I don't know what the problem is. Unfortunately, I didn't discover this until after the warranty had expired, and Kitchenaid customer service basically told me "too bad". To me, this seems like one of the most basic tasks a mixer should be able to accomplish. I think part of the problem is the bowl-lift design - in hindsight, I much prefer the lift top design of the Artisan model.
Another, smaller complaint is that with the bowl-lift design, it's a bit harder to get in there with a spatula to scrape down the sides, something that's much easier with the lift top version.
So this one may have a stronger motor, but it turned out to be a big disappointment for me. I still think Kitchenaid mixers are the best, but my next one will be an Artisan, no question.

This mixer lived up to what it said it would do. I love making bread, rolls, pastries and have always done the mixing by spoons and hands. With this mixer the mess is over and the cosolidation and consistency of the indgredients into dough is surreal. I am baking much more these days with the ease of this mixer. I don't know why I did not get one much sooner. It certainly has made my time in the kitchen much more enjoyable and effecient. Thanks so much for this great procuct!!
