Nice wine chiller December 17, 2007

"I have the 6 bottle cellar and am really enjoying it. It took more than 24 hours to get the cellar at the proper temperature for the wines I stored (chardonnay and pinot grigio). The literature that comes with the cellar mentions that the cellar is most efficient when the ambient temp in the room is 70 degrees or below! This is unrealistic for me, I live in Florida. It would cost a fortune for me to air condition my house down to 70 degrees. Still, I find the cellar works beautifully, even if it did take quite a while to reach the proper temperature. It has been a real pleasure to be able to drink a wine at the "proper" temperature. I like the fact that not only does the cellar come with 8 preset temps, but I can manually set my preferred temp if I don't quite agree with the expert opinion on optimum temperature. The unit allows you to view either Farenheit and Centigrade, or switch back and forth, you can have the interior light on all the time for looks, or have it come on only when you open the door. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to be able to experience wine at optimum temperatures easily and without having to build a wine cellar in your basement. The only drawback, the cellar is all one compartment so all the wine will be at the same temperature. I am contemplating getting a second 6 bottle unit to keep some reds."
