I purchased this with the intension of making my own hamburger meat for hamburgers and meatloaf. I know what is in them. I know that I will be using it for more things because of the booklet that came with it. Thanks Quisinart!

Bought this when I lived in England during Mad Cow Madness. My husband would bring chuck roasts (in his luggage) back from the States and I'd grind them into hamburgers and invite the other expats over for a barbecue. Fresh ground hamburger
(even made from meat that's been in a suitcase for 10 hours) is DELICIOUS. When we came back to the US, I kept on grinding - hamburger, meatloaf mix, meatballs. It's fun to do, the attachment is easy to clean and the end result is delicious! Highly recommend this!

Having used the Kitchen Aid grinder for 20 years, this attachment took a little getting used to. It grinds meat equally as well as the Kitchenaid with the added advantage of three sizes of grinds. The unit is relatively quiet. It assembles easily. The main unit is made out of cast aluminum. Cuisinart says not to put this piece in the dishwasher because it will turn a dark ugly grey, but if you don't mind the color change, it will go in the dishwasher. The plastic parts are top rack safe. A bit pricey but well worth it.
