I have a set of really good knives. But when I need to slice a tomato I alway go to my Wusthof tomato knife. I works like a charm to cut through that difficult to cut through skin and cuts cleanly through the rest of the tomato.
I would not want to be without it. I even take it on trips if we are staying in a condo type lodging where we cook some of our meals.
