Silicone Cutting Boards, Set of 4

Silicone Cutting Boards, Set of 4 : In a busy kitchen, it's easy to lose track of which cutting surface has been used for preparing raw meat, poultry or fish. With this silicone set, you cut only what each board's color-coded symbol illustrates and kiss cross-contamination goodbye. Nonskid backing keeps boards in place while cutting. FDA-approved, food-grade silicone material is naturally nonstick, resilient, easy to maintain and will not retain odors or flavors. Set of 4 flexible boards includes one each: yellow chicken, red cow, green carrot and blue fish. Dishwasher-safe in top rack.

Great & Stylish Cutting Mats July 29, 2008
Jimmerz from Bowling Green, Ohio

"I've had these for about two months so far and I'm very happy with em.
They're stylish and the color coding is a good way to keep things organized for me when making a meal which has several types of raw meat and vegetables/spices.
I have not had any problem with color coming off on food/counter top or rubbing off at all. Cleaning them is a snap as they dry off quickly and are great to hang for show in the kitchen.
They have been durable and lasting for me with what I consider normal everyday abuse."

I like these... August 21, 2008
nazrider from Arizona

"I have to wonder about the previous reviews claiming the color print comes off. I can't figure out how, because mine still have the print on them and I use them daily, especially the veggie and chicken mats. I wonder if the people who are experiencing color transfer either got defective mats or they are using them on the wrong side. There is an almost sticky surface on the bottom of these to keep a grip on the surface you put them on. The kind of grainy side is for cutting on. They clean up nicely and the color coding is a really good idea, but I'd like them to be just a couple inches larger. Overall, great!"

Serious design flaw July 28, 2008
Mirepoix from SF Bay Area

"Must agree with the previous reviewer. The colored printing on these mats is not durable at all. It comes off with gentle hand washing and does, indeed, rub off onto whatever surface you've placed the mat upon to do your prep work. I would also add that, for me, these are a bit undersized. Almost always, I find that the food I'm cutting or chopping quickly transgresses the perimeter of the mats."

nice idea, but ... June 11, 2008
Anonymous Reviewer from New York City

"there are problems with it's execution.

The coloring on the mats comes off during hand washing.

It also can come off while in use, staining the surface beneath the mat.

A real disappointment."
