What professional or home cook can afford not to have these measuring spoons and cups? They are of heavy gauge and do not bend while you are scooping flour out of your flour canister. This is a product that you must own. I can assure you this is something you will go to each time you need a measuring cup or spoon. The quality is designed to last years with daily use.

These stainless steel measuring cups are not inexpensive. Chef's Catalog is known for top quality. I am looking at 2 sets of these measuring cups. On each set there are abrasion marks on the inside of each "cup" except the top 1/4 cup. The bottom of the upper "cup" abraded a scratch area in the one below. Various cleaners for stainless steel have not removed the marks. I assume abrasion occured during shipping activity. Quality (?)of stainless to abrade? No liner within cups to protect? Cannot recommend for the price.

I needed to replace an old set of measuring cups and really wanted a sturdy, stainless set. I was about to purchase the All-Clad set for $50 when I found this set which is every bit as good. The measurements are etched, not printed, and they are all one piece which adds to the stability. A very good quality product all arouhd.

Needed a new set of cups because the handle came off of the old one cup measuring cup. This won't happen with these cups because they are made in one piece. They are very sturdy and will probably last forever.

The cups have a wide diameter and are shallow, which make them hard to fit into a bag of flour or sugar. The handles on the cups are straight. The handles on the spoons are curved at the handle end. I don't know why they do not match. The ring that holds the cups and spoons together do not hold the items together. The ring opens at the slightest touch. I just store them separately in the drawer. The width of the measuring cups do not fit in the drawer slot, which is inconvenient.
There are no seams for anything to get caught on, which is a plus. It helps to keep them clean.
I tried measuring with each cups and discovered that each measuring cup made by another company measures differently. 2/3 cups one one measuring cup measures 3/4 cups on another manufacturers. I find this discrepancy to mess up my recipes. I do not know which measuring cups are correct, or what the standard should be.
The measuring cups and spoons are well made. They should last my lifetime.

I needed measuring cups that could be placed inside of our tea, coffee and sugar jars. As a result they needed to have short handles. But since I wanted sturdy stainless cups and not those ugly plastic or colored cups I've seen, I had to really search long to finally find these. They most definitely fit most of what I wanted: they're heavy, sturdy and easily cleaned. And the handles, with that indented valley that run the whole length, make them easy to hold. They are not as short as they appeared on the picture but they are still very close to what I wanted. The only problem is that the actual cups have very wide circumferences. If our jars had been any smaller, they would have had trouble going in and out. Otherwise they're a great item.

i am a baker by profession. i have dealt with years of measuring cups where the handles break off usually sooner rather than later. these measuring cups are made from one piece of metal. they are heavier and promise to last for years and years. worth the price.
