I've had a Cuisinart grind & brew for many years...it was still working but the grinder seemed to be wearing out. I felt it was time to replace it eventhough I've kept it as a back-up if needed.
I like the new hopper type and I especially like that it is 12 cups...previously I had a 10 cup. I'm still learning about it but it does make great coffee and is fully adjustable for strength and # of cups. The additional features are appreciated.

This is the second coffee maker of this type that I have bought. Like the fact that it does everything on it's own..Have heard it is bad because it leaves a little of the ground coffee on the outside of the basket lid...why is that a problem? Unless these people do not clean their basket after each use. Since you have to take out the filter anyway I just rinse the basket and lid before I put another paper filter in so it is ready to run when I want it to make coffee.

Wonderful fresh-brewed coffee ready when I get up in the morning! And, still hot hours later, the taste is still great thanks to the metal carafe!

An improvement over the last Grind Cuisinart Coffee Maker. Lets us choose the brew strength, and number of cups. For some of our friends the strength may not be strong enough, but I will get out our old burr grinder. For us it is great. Convenience, operation, and being able to wake up in the morning to a great cup or coffee.

I wouldn't order this without measuring the space under your cabinet. I've never walked into anyones kitchen that didn't have their coffe maker on the counter under a kitchen cabinet but this one doesn't fit under mine. I will probably return this one, not happy!!!

This is the second Cuisinart Grind and Brew I have bought. I keep one at each house so I don't have to remember how to use it depending where I am at the time. Every so often I have to clean the ground coffee out of the shoot but it's a small effort. The only thing I dislike about the machine is it is so tall that it doesn't fit under the cabinet at one of the houses. I had to place it on a side table so now I have a coffee station and the counter top is not so cluttered.

Don't Trust Customer Service

When I received this product the lid to put the water in could not be opened without removing the cover over the coffee beans. The coffee bean cover also did not seal. (Yes, I did have the bean cover turned in the correct direction.) When I called Cuisinart customer service about the lid problems the women I talked to put me on hold to see how one worked and came back telling me that this was the same way it worked on the one she looked at (she also had to take the bean lid off before she could open the lid to put the water in) - so there was nothing she could do. Similarly, she told me the lid on the beans just sat on top and did not seal in any way. I had a hard time believing this so I went back to a retailer and found none of this was true.
I am probably being a bit picky but now when I press a button to open the filter holder I need to pull it open because it sticks.
I have used the unit for two weeks and the coffee does taste good. Oh, and I noticed no difference without the water filter so I will not be worrying about replacing this every few months. Maybe if you had really hard water, used well water, made really weak coffee or something you can tell a difference but I would try it out before I bought more replacement filters.
Summary: Coffee is good if you luck into a working unit, but you might be lied to when you talk to the Cuisinart customer service.

I bought my grind and brew 2 1/2 years ago. It has a few quirks, but once you figure it out, it is fabulous.
First of all, pull the hopper out every time you add beans and clean the little grinder dispenser. If you do it every time, then 90 % of your problems are over with.
I set the timer every morning, and wake up to great coffee. It is loud when it grinds the coffee. But, worth it. There is a little spring below the filter that can wear out. Cusinart has the fillter holder as an accessory on it's website--just order a new one if it wears out and coffee won't go in the thermal pot.
My grinder just gave out. So, I am ordering a new one. It is now cheaper than my first one. I am sending my old one in for repair, and taking it to my office.

Disappointed

This coffeemaker is a lemon. We had wonderful tasting coffee for three days. Even though we cleaned the parts after every use, the ground beans began to cram up and not go into the filter basket, giving us very weak coffee or only hot water. We specifically cleaned the shoot according to the directions, and it still failed. We set the coffee maker aside for a week, then decided to try it one more time before we returned it. It failed again, so we are returning it. The failure point seems to be the spring that opens the shoot to the filter basket.

Purchased to replace our previous grind and brew coffee pot. Great coffee flavor. Nice not having to clean the grinder everyday like in previous models. However must clean grinder, and coffee chute weekly or everytime fill hopper with beans. Within first week grinder wouldn't work because clogged. Cleaned several times and still didn't work. Called customer service which was very helpful and for whatever reason grinder started to work again. Love the Cuisinart coffee pot.

We loved the previous model that didn't store the beans in the top. This one is even better. Cleaning has several steps but it isn't difficult once you know what needs to be done and how to do it. Great tasting coffee at the strength you choose!

Have had it for a week, the coffee is ok, we brew it on strong, half the time the grinds are still dry, coffeee is barely warm even when right from the brew let alone an hour later.
Needs to have a "keep hot platter"
Bought 2 as one for a gift, won't bother will return for refund as would not "gift" it used yet alone new.

This is another good product. It does exactly what it states it will do. I like the fact that I can use the grinder or not. I can also grab that first cup of coffee...the machine stops dripping until I replace the pot. I love that feature.

As stated in other reviews this machine does at times make a great cup of coffee but only after carefully loading the basket with the handle facing forward and the the lid placed carefully on top with the arrows aligned properly and the chute properly cleaned and holding your breath while hopping on one foot then slowly counting to ten before you press the grind button,,, Even after following following the manufactures directions to the letter the brew basket top will sometimes spin around forever trying to align with the grind chute while beeping in distress (nice first thing in the morning).

Thermal Carafe... Check
Freshly Ground Taste... Check
Timer/Programmable... Check!
Makes a delicious fresh ground pot of coffee that doesn't burn thanks to the the thermal carafe. About every pound of beans or so, you need to clean out the little door/channel that goes from the grinder to the filter. This process takes less than a minute, however. Have noticed that some roasts will clog this channel faster than others, but really not a big deal.
I depend on this machine daily in my home office. Without it, productivity would crater, coffee enjoyment would go through the floor, and much sadness would ensure.
Thank you Cuisinart!
