I purchased my Zoji a few years ago because we had moved to the mountains and at 7000 feet I was no longer able to cook perfect rice. This machine is like a miracle - short grain or long, white, brown, or wild, plain or Mexican, I can always rely on the rice being wonderful. I just purchased another Zoji for my son and his wife for Christmas and would recommend it to everyone.

Who needs a personal chef when you have this little buddy on your counter? This is a highly versatile, programmable machine that makes dinner (and Irish oats for breakfast) a snap with just the slightest forethought. Easy to clean, easier still to program. Not only would I recommend it to a friend, they might just get it for Christmas!

Love the multiple features that this rice cooker warmer has. The direction are extensive but well worth the multiple features this product has. Like many other shoppers have stated on other sites it is expensive and would recommend if you cook rice more that once a week. Also great for other items such as cakes,

I have had for a couple of weeks and have used 3 times. Rice was great 2 times, but one time it was very mushy. Maybe I put in too much water. Also, I probably need to read manual, but I haven't had the cooking light go off and switch to warming so I am afraid to prepare ahead of time, since I must not understand this function. If I can figure that out I would switch rating to 5 stars.

I really do use this almost every day. It is one of the most user friendly products in my kitchen. With intuitive buttons and display, even kids can understand it, not that I am suggesting they should use it unsupervised. The inside gets very hot, and the removable container makes it much easier to use functionally, as well as to clean.

I have to admit I never considered a rice cooker to be a necessity, and I certainly couldn't justify the rather outrageous (I thought) price. That all changed when I received a Zojirushi rice cooker as a gift. Hello gorgeous, where have you been all my life? I never cared for rice because cooking it on the stove was always hit or miss for me, either too tough or too soft. Either way not palatable.
No more. This cooker cooks PERFECT rice every time, effortlessly. It does take a little time to cook, but perfection is worth it, because it uses Fuzzy Logic to steam the rice instead of just boiling and simmering. Perfect. Rice. Every. Time.
If you are thinking of getting a rice cooker, the Zojirushi brand is the best, hands down. Spend the extra money and get the best you can get. Definitely get one that cooks GABA brown rice. Worth every penny.

I love this machine! I have tried all kinds of rice and it has cooked each one perfectly! I have kept rice warm all night and eaten it piping hot for breakfast. It was not discolored or hard-just perfect! I put it on when I leave for work and come home to hot rice ready to put into casseroles or other reciepes. Really is a time saver as I have a long commute! Saves money since it keeps us from eating out so much!
Also has a great retractable cord and a handle to carry to potlucks and family gatherings.

In July 2008 I attended my brother's wedding in Nashville. My new sister-in-law is from Vietnam and they received the Zojirushi Rice Cooker/Warmer as a wedding gift. It was so easy to use and the rice it made was so delicious, that my husband and kids continued to rave about the rice they made for dinner for the next 5 months! You can guess what I received for a Christmas gift from my family. Now I am making and serving that same delicious rice! So easy to use and easy to clean. I can't wait to try some of the other settings, including making oatmeal! Definitely well made, easy to use, and a great buy!

We live next door to a lady who is originally from Korea, so good rice has been a luxury that we have been able to become accustom to thanks to our friendship. they had recommended the Zojirushi Rice Cooker/Warmer to us. You can find less expensive rice cookers, but the quality is in this cooker/warmer's easy operation and the rice it prepares so easily. It also keeps rice warm and fresh; never dried out. With several settings for different styles of rice which I didn't even know existed, the Zojirushi Rice Cooker/Warmer has also been a learning tool, allowing the discovery of new ways to prepare rice for new dishes. It also will prepare more than just rice...how about baking a cake?
We thoroughly enjoy our Zojirushi Rice Cooker/Warmer and now prepare rice much more often.
Pros: very easy to use, various functionality

This rice cooker is so easy to use and makes excellent rice. I hardly needed to look at the manual to begin, it's so intuitive to use. Just measure the rice in one of two handy measurers they give you, fill the water to one of the lines (marked), depending on what type of rice you're cooking, and press the large button. The only thing I changed in the settings to customize it was the song played when the rice finished (the default is "twinkle twinkle little star"! A little silly.) Easy to clean, too. Great product. Now I want their bread maker.
