When I'm in the Kitchen, I become: Cooking Enthusiast
I have been looking for a 2 cup measuring cup forever! Most things need 2 cups of something whether it be powder, like flour, or liquid, like water or chicken stock. Now I am finding that I use them for a variety of tasks at almost every meal. Just a few example are, I can warm milk/cream/butter to put in Mash Potatoes or create a warm salad dressing quickly and easily. They are the perfect size for so many things.

Many baking recipes for baking call for 2 1/2 and three cups of flour. These exact measuring cups save time. They are also heavy duty and can be used for small sauce pans. I Love them .

Great cups, they are a great companion to the measuring cups that I already have. They have a good shape and weight. I will use them when making cookie for the holidays.
I purchased this 3 cup pan because many of my bread recipes call for 3 cups and I wanted to measure with one cup instead of using a 2 plus a 1 cup measuring cup. Unfortunately the 3 cup is not exactly 3 cups but slightly over by approximately 1/3 cup, so I'm disappointed in that but will use both the 2 and 3 cups for re-heating and other things. These pans are extra heavy duty and well balanced.

Great little pans

I wanted to start heating up my preschooler son's small portions of veggies on the stove-top, rather than the microwave oven, but couldn't find anything that was small enough for individual portions. The smallest pan (1.5 C) in this group works very well. Actually, I wish the diameter were a tiny bit smaller, but this is the smallest, functional pan I could find anywhere -- and it works very nicely. I just add a little olive oil, water or broth to the veggies, heat and stir. This seems so much better than microwave cooking, of which I've read too many cautionary articles...
Pros: Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to use, Appearance/ Design /Style, easy to store, durability, Functional/Useful, capacity
We got rid of our microwave months ago in an effort to live healthier lives. But being such a handy appliance, we had gotten so used to the ease of microwaving everything that it took a little effort to find solutions for the tasks of heating and reheating. The one headache was always how to easily heat up or reheat the small things: from a small pat of butter for popcorn to the last half cup of cold coffee. We only have one smallish saucepan and that thing was getting used so often that it was constantly having to be washed as soon as one thing was done in order to use it right away for another thing.
Since it would be used often I wanted something strong and solid, not a flimsy saucepan that would only last a couple of months. it would also have to be inexpensive enought that I could buy at least three in order to avoid the constant washing and re-using of one pan. And varying sizes would be great too.
I searched and searched and was only able to find expensive smallish, but not small enough, suacepans. When I finally came across these I couldn't believe it. It's so rare to find exactly what you're looking for. And it's hard to believe that only Chefs Catalog has them. But they're perfect. Their sturdy thickeness distributes heat evenly and the long handles make it easy to swirl without getting burned. And the price is amazing for such quality. They are absolutely great and well made little pots. Indespensible.

Great Small Pans

I have purchased the 2 and 3 cup pans which are of heavy construction and provide even heat in the bottom. They are great pans to have for heating up smaller food volumes. However, I was surprised to see liquid run down the outside of the 2-cup pan where the handle is bolted to the pan, especially since the attachment is very sturdy. This only occurs if the pan is filled fully with liquid. Regardless, this is not a significant issue and I am glad to have found pans in these smaller sizes.

These little guys are perfect for melting butter and chocolate, heating up the cream for the cat, and a score of other uses you can think of, which require small amounts. The best part is the stainless steel. I love the long handles and the clean up is a breeze.

This butter warmer is the most useful kitchen item for me when I need to heat any liquid that needs to be added to my recipes expecially when cooking or baking with butter. I purchased the two cup butter warmer since I frequently double my recipes and it has worked out wonderfully. I would recommend this item to anyone who cooks and definetly to those who bake.
