I bought this Fagor multi-cooker instead of a rice cooker that I was looking at. So far I have been very pleased with cooking plain rice (in 6 minutes), an italian rice dish, chicken soup, and other things using the pressure and slow cook features. What I particularly like is the quick cleanup afterward. The unit is well built, easy to use, and very attractive.

I'm very impressed with the Fagor Multi Cooker.
In one day I made short ribs, beef goulash, and brown rice.
Really I made them all in half a day.
What a pleasure, and all came out great.
I thought of pressure cookers as my grandmothers tool.
It's really state of the art, easy to use.
Only con is the bottom surface area is a little small. I should have gotten the next size up if they make it.

New to pressure cooking, but we love it. Shortens cooking time and replaces two kitchen items a rice cooker and slow cooker.
The enclosed cookbook is very helpful and easy to follow, despite the index page reference do not exactly match with the page.

I have cooked rice in this a couple of time now; it works like a charm. I also pressure-cooked some black beans; they turned out great in 35 minutes of cooking time. I love cooking with dried beans and this cooker will be very handy.
In the kitchen, I'm never without: bread flour!

Although it is a 6-quart removable pot, the MAX fill line is 4 quarts. Since I like to make large batches, this is a disappointment, but I like the other features, and it seems to work beautifully.

I cooked long grain white rice successfully in 20 minutes overall. Cooked sushi rice same time. Liked the set it and forget it allowed by controls. Pressure cooked 8 pounds of pork in 30 minutes overall. Pressure cooked 3/4 bushel of apples for apple sauce in several batches very quickly. Cooked 1/4 bushel apples for apple butter on slow cooker mode. Controls are very easy to use. Removable cooking vessel extremely easy to clean.

The multi cooker is the best. I love the browning feature and the fact that it will keep your food warm after it is cooked. I would like to see the control panel in a more visible location, but that is a minor consideration, My dinner is ready when I get home from work AND it is piping hot. WOW

Awesome multi-cooker!!! I've had it just over a week and have already prepared three meals with it! I can see myself using it very often! I've pressure cooked the Bouillabaisse soup in the recipe book that comes included, steamed some salmon fillets, and slow cooked a beef stew! Gourmet meals usually take me so much time, effort, prep work, clean up of pots and pans, etc... now, it's just prep work, add all ingredients, and cook! Clean up is simple, and quick. I LOVE this product! I cant wait to try more recipes! Cooking is fun again!

Truly a one pot wonder. The browning function worked well and very quickly. Inner container has very nice non stick finish and is easy to clean. Outer surface was warm but n ot hot after 12 hrs. Digital control panel is easy to use. Looking forward to many years of use.

i've been using the traditional fashion cooker for years and this is the 1st electronic pressure cooker that i try. you will definitely love it cause it is quite but it does its work.

I purchased this appliance to cook rice and have found it does everything else very well except for rice. Rice turns out too gummy for my taste. However, if you are looking for one appliance to do a variety of cooking functions this is it. I am looking forward to preparing meals in the heat of the summer and not having to heat up the kitchen by using the stovetop or oven.

I wanted this for a party. It came, it did not work, it was sent back and replaced with two days to spare (kudos to customer service). It is heavy, good quality, easy to operate and store, and allowed me to toss out both my rice cooker and my slow cooker. The feature which lets you brown food right in the pot is very useful, and the lift out pot is heavy (never scorches like my rice pot used to), and non stick coated besides (unlike my slow cooker).
Although the seal and pressure thingy come out, like the pot, to be cleaned, the main mechanism is not easy to clean -- the lip which holds the lid on under pressure also holds sticky residue from cooking, and it of course does not go into the washer and neither does the lid. The vapor collector, like all I've ever seen, does not hold securely, though with the pressure seal this is not as big a problem as with other appliances. Also, the digital panel is a little hard to see for the middle aged.
Finally, the cookbook that comes with it talks about "roast" chicken and meats -- this is not happening because the seal prevents a dry heat environment, and the cooking time given in the slow cook recipes seems to be greatly exaggerated -- cut it in half and you might be about right.
Overall, though, the relatively minor flaws don't detract from the fact that this is a high quality machine, it has many settings (including delay cooking) and a multitude of uses, particularly in a high altitude kitchen. I expect to use it at least once a week for a long time to come.

Have had this appliance for nearly a month. Donated my crock pot and rice-cooker as they were no longer needed. Roasts, stews, beans, artichokes and other veggies and soups....bam! Love that I no longer need to figure out what's for dinner until evening rolls around. It's amazing how fast and flavorful food is prepared in a pressure cooker.
risottos are great and the slow-cooker function works well too.
The browning function works great! Just be careful not to scratch the non-stick coating. I like the look of the unit and although I could easily stow it away, I am fine with leaving it out as I enjoy looking at it as well as using it. Compared to my stove top PC, it is quieter, emits less steam and moisture into the kitchen, but it does take quite a bit longer to come up to pressure. But, you can set the timer and walk away as it knows what to do on it's own.
So now,, with this multi-cooker, my stove top PC,and the incredible versatile Vitamix 5200, I am in culinary heaven!

I never had a slow cooker. However, with all the other things Fargo can do, I decided to join the 20th century, though a little behind. I steamed an artichoke in 10 minutes, I browned short ribs, then added other ingredients and used slow cooking for 3 hours. I then made gravy right in the pot after removing ribs. The ribs were great, and the gravy was outstanding. I'm anxious to try the rice, but am not sure how to do some pilafs and Mexican rice (their instructions are so different), but I'm going to see if I can adapt them. If so, you can change the 4 stars to 5!

I bought this on the recommendation of the Fagor brand on a cooking web group. I thought that the electric multi would be perfect for me due to set and leave nature and the ease of cooking beans and grains. I have used it a few times and found it easy to use and easy to clean. Unless it falls apart in the next few uses I will consider it a very worthwhile purchase.

The Fagor Electric Multi-Cooker is the BEST electric appliance I have purchased in several years. It truly offers "multi" features you need. In 2009 I was on a mission to find a slow cooker that had a delayed start feature. I didn't want to go to work and have dinner slow cook for 10 hours or more and the Fagor delayed feature solved that problem. The additional rewards of this FAGOR item is that you can brown meat, onions, garlic, right in the cooker and then add food items and begin the slow cooking process. Or, you can use the pressure cooker feature and have supper in as little as 30 minutes with wonderful results. You can also slow cook and then shift to pressure cook to speed up if necessary. It also has a rice-risotto cooking feature. It has never disappointed me and I use this multi cooker every week. Also, thhe pot is removable and a snap to clean.

I had researched for a while before purchasing a Fargo electric cooker because I am such a frugal. I'd compared the use and the price of different products to make sure I got the best of the best, and I finally chose this product. I found it's easy to use although I am not a technical person. I'm very happy with the results of browning meat and using as a pressure cooker. It takes much less time to tender the meat without worrying about spilling and cleaning. The toughtest meat came out very soft and tender in a short time. It's worth the money, and I recommend every one who need to cook for every day living to own one. One product can do so many things; browning, slow cooking. softening and rice cooking. I've been using it for almost two years now, and has no problems.
