Very disappointed, the box was all tour up and parts were lose, No instruction or ideas how to use , might return it.

A Mandolin slicer is a fantastic time saver in the kitchen, and the Shun Pro model is sturdy and shows numerous small improvements which greatly enhance the ease of use and safety. The cutting depth is adjustable over a much wider range of thicknesses than most other Mandolin's, giving the Mandolin an impressive versatility. The different slicing attachments (mosty Mandolin's only have one) let you make thick cut fries, thinly sliced carrots for salads, or anything in between.
The first advice I ever got with my first Mandolin was always use and handguard, and I soon learned why. With this Mandolin, the rail-sliding handguard keeps fingers safely away from the cutting action, and applies appropriate down pressure to the action without forcing the user to put their weight on the device. It is very strongly built and my blades are still razor sharp after over a year of use. It may seem like overkill, but I would argue a solid kitchen tool that I will still be using for a long time.
