I purchased a number of knife blocks before getting this 35-slot cherry knife block. We have a cleaver that we needed to house and the 35-slot knife block was the smallest one (!) with room for one. I was apprehensive about the size of the block, but now that it's in the kitchen, it looks wonderful and holds ALL our knives, including our steak knives. Quality is great - the cherry color is beautiful. Smooth edges, well finished. Another example of Wusthof's high quality.

For years I have been searching for a knife block to hold all my knives. The larger blocks usually come with a set of knives, and I really didn't want to spend that kind of money, nor did I want all those knives. I had been using three different blocks for my most-used kitchen knives. When I saw this knife block that will hold 36 knives, I was thrilled! It is wonderful, and I love having one block that will hold all my knives. The spaces are designed so even very wide knives fit. There is a place for all my knives, kitchen sheers and the knife sharpener. Love it, love it, love it.

This is not only a gorgeous hunk of wood, but it has enough room for all the knives I currently own with plenty of room t o replace the knives I have that aren't worthy of this beautiful piece of wood . I am looking forward to having a new arsenal of quality knives . The slots are also nicely sized. I am happy!

This product holds 36 knives - it's good sized, but if you are serious about cooking and use a lot of knives doing so, this product is for you. The wood is nicely finished, well constructed and will look good in any kitchen.

Like several others, I ran out of slots in my previous Wusthof knife block; I absolutely love this large block and the color perfectly matches our kitchen cabinets.
I am sure that, over time, I will fill every slot with Wusthof knives.

My old knife block was given to me as a gift many years ago when blocks had vertical knife slots which dull the knives as they're removed and replaced. It was time to resharpen my knives again and thus time to buy the new knife block that I had been putting of for way too long.
I purchased the 25 slot, non-swivel knife block and couldn't have be happier when it arrived. It's solidly well made, has horizontal slots, and even has a slot to accomodate my cleaver, which my old block didn't have.
At $79 the value is terrific and I highly recommend it for personal use and especially as a gift to a young cook just starting out. It will last more than a lifetime.

I was like a child at Christmas when my Wusthof hardwood knife block arrived. I immediately retrieved my knives from kitchen drawers and placed them in my block! This knife block is about twice the size of my old Wusthof block, but the footprint isn't that much larger. My kitchen has modest sized counterspace, so this is an important feature. The slots are well spaced and accomodate all my knives well without having to stuggle to retrieve any knife.

I recently purchased the Wustof 35 slot knife block. Like a great many males, I have a serious weakness for knives. My 25 slot holder didn't have enough slots for wide blades. About 1/3 of my knives are Wustof, the rest are Shun Classic (I prefer the 16 deg. angle over the 22). This is the only block that will accommodate all of my every day knives. Each has it's own specific usages, there is no one overall knife. So I have indulged my weakness and spoiled myself. And I've got to say, it's an attractive and functional centerpiece for my kitchen island chopping block.

I love this knife block. There are plenty of slots for the 4 chef's knives I have along with all my specialty knives and scissors. Only downside is that laying horizontally like this, the knives are not really easy to pull out when all slots are full.
