I ordered the 12" grilling tongs and really like the teeth for grabbing and flipping steaks. The smooth ends flip foil packets of shrimp and seafood fillets. I'll be replacing all my old tongs with these.

I have a drawer filled with various kinds of tongs but none can compare with these commercial grade tongs. I have been searching for them in local stores and was so pleased to find them in the Chefs catalog.

While this product works just great for grilling, the problem is that it does not close enough when you close and then lock the tongs. They remain opened enough to make storing in a drawer very difficult. I expected them to close the same as the non scalloped tongs.

These tongs are great! They're substantial heavy weight commercial quality stainless with slide lock mechanism, easy to lock and unlock, and hold up well to banging around. They're not your flimsy big box store series tools. I bought my first 2 pairs, one 9" and one 12", about 12 or 14 years ago and they're used almost everyday. In last couple of years, I've added 2 more pairs of 9" tongs to my kitchen, since I use that size the most.

These tongs are great for many things in addition to food. I use them to retrieve things that have fallen behind the sewing machine cabinet, sofa etc. Also, taking things off a high shelf. I use a pair for picking up leaf clusters in my front yard that the squirrels have dropped while nest building. They have the best grip of any tongs I have ever used.

These are the best tongs made. I've had pairs go as long as 11 years without fail. Handle feel is perfect, scalloped edge and gripper edge design can't be beat for functionality, and durability is remarkable.

These tongs will work fine however, I was disappointed when they arrived. They look institutional with the squared off heads. The catalog showed the set of 3 with nicely tapered heads like a pair I already had. I needed this set for the different sizes but wanted the tapered head for more pinpoint accuracy and control.

I bought these for my grill master sons. The flat end is helpful for turning anything on a hot grill. Who can live without Edlund tongs? These are great additions to the regular rounded end tong. Love them!

I own a set of tongs with silicone tips and they do not grip as well as these. They are easy to use and hold the grip. I highly recommend this product.

The primary reason I bought these tongs is because they were stainless steel. My old plated steel tongs really just don't do well after a few trips through the dishwasher. The problem I have with these Edlund tongs is the gap left even after they're locked into the "closed" position. There's still a gap of about 2 1/4" in the closed position! That might be alright if you're turning over a roast or a Chernobyl Farms chicken breast, but anything else is going to slide out! Turning over the meat aside, I use my tongs primarily for holding the cloth "swab" I use to oil my grates. My old plated steel tongs use a square wire closure that you slide down the tongs toward the scalloped end to hold it in the closed position, resulting in a gap of only 1/16". Until the manufacturer finds a way to close the gap a great deal more, I cannot recommend these tongs.

We purchased 2 Edlund tongs a few years and go and they are indispensible in our kitchen. Then we accidentally left a pair at someone else's house and we panicked. So, within 24 hours we bought 6 more tongs of various lengths. These are sturdy, lock easily and never come undone, and will always be part of our kitchen utensil arsenal.
