I have been looking for awhile at enameled dutch ovens. I wanted to purchase 2, one for myself and one for my daughter in law, so the thought of spending in excess of 500 bucks (for the higher end French made pot) was a little intimidating. We are both (my daughter in law and myself) very happy with the quality of this product at a much lower price point. We've both used the pot for numerous dishes and it cleans easily and cooks very evenly. Lodge has had a great reputation for years among 'old Boy Scouts' for the dutch ovens we used camping. This product follows that same quality. Thanks for having it in the catalog!
Pros: Easy to Clean/Wash, Value for Money, True to Color, Heat distribution, construction, Tight-fitting lid, Heat retention, Appearance/ Design /Style, Performs Well, durability, great packaging

An overall excellent product. Quality of workmanship is what you would expect from Lodge. It heats evenly and uniformly and worked better than I expected on a glass stovetop. Equal to or surpasses similar products at three times the price.
Pros: Easy to Clean/Wash, Value for Money, quality, Material, easy to use, even cooking, Heat distribution, multi-purpose, construction, size, Tight-fitting lid, Heat retention, Appearance/ Design /Style, Performs Well, easy to store, durability, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting, capacity
Cons: weight, Handle gets hot, too heavy for my wife to handle when full.

Great multi-purpose pot

I received one as a Christmas gift (in blue - so pretty) and love it. I use it at least 2-3 times a week. I have used it to sear, braise, and roast and it's a champ at everything I've tried. Although you can't put it in the dishwasher, the enamel coating makes it very easy to clean. The only con is its weight which is expected any time you are dealing with cast iron, and the pros outweigh this con by far. I would definitely buy this again & again, and it makes a great gift, too.
Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to use, even cooking, Functional/Useful, Heat distribution, Heat retention, Long-lasting, Material, multi-purpose, Performs Well, quality, size, Tight-fitting lid, True to Color, Value for Money, Variety of Colors

This enamel cast iron was exactly what I had been looking for. It was the perfect size, for all types of dishes that I cook. I love the natural color and style that can be taken from the oven to the table. It has a very heavy lid and yet it isn't uncomfortable to handle. And most of all does everything in the cooking range that I wanted and needed. It will be a part of my kitchen collection for years to come and will be passed on to my daughter.
Thank you

Great Dutch Oven. It does everything any of the other brands claim, but at a much better price. The color seemed deep and beautiful, but when it arrived, a little dull looking in the color, but still nice.
Favorite Brand: Cusinart, Lodge, OXO, Samsung, Jen Air
Pros: easy to use, even cooking, Heat distribution, multi-purpose, construction, size, non-stick, Performs Well, durability, capacity, Easy to Clean/Wash, Value for Money, quality, Material, Heat retention, easy to store, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting

My first use was a potato leek soup on top of the stove. Nice and even cooking of the leeks with no scorching!
Next dish will be a mediterranean chicken with olives and prunes in the oven. I look forward to being able to brown the chicken on top of the stove and then finish off the dish slowly in the oven.
So glad we bought this!
In the kitchen, I'm never without: My sharp paring knife; flexible metal spatula; wooden spoons
Favorite Brand: No favorites, but I do rely on Consumer Reports before buying and product, as I did with my Lodge Dutch Oven.

This is exactly what my daughter wants for Christmas. The color is great and it doesn't weigh a ton! Also, the price was right. Since it is a gift, I won't be able to answer some of the review pro/con questions.

I just got the pot and have not had a chance to use it yet, but appearance wise it's exactly as advertised.
It's a very solidly built pot.
It's heavy, so keep this in mind if you plan on using it a lot and have trouble lifting items.

I've shopped around and this is the best I could hope for - quality and price. It's perfect for my solid top range and just the right size. I also appreciated the choice of colors although that is a minor thing. It's heavy but is supposed to be and I can't wait to load it up for a dinner when my family visits. I have a few good recipes including Turkey Chili that will cook & simmer the best in this pot.

Heavy duty pot with all the great qualities of cast iron without the worry of the pot ever rusting, or turning your seafood gumbo a wierd color. It's big so you could cook anything in it. I wish there were different sizes like thier competition, because the lodge is so much cheaper and performs great.

I've been trying to justify the purchase of a Le Creuset dutch oven for simply years. Then one day I was shopping Chefs & noticed Lodge makes enamel cast iron pots for less money than Le Creuset. So I decided to give this a try. Wish I'd done it years ago! Have used this pot and can honestly say that there is no reason to spend hundreds when for less than $100 you can have 6 quarts of a fabulous pot for everything. Only difference I can see is the shape of the bottom of the pot, this isn't squared off, it's rounded, which means less bottom space for sauteing or browning.
Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to use, even cooking, Functional/Useful, Heat distribution, Heat retention, Long-lasting, Material, multi-purpose, non-stick, Performs Well, quality, size, Tight-fitting lid, True to Color, Value for Money, Warranty
