I have always believed that you get what you pay for! I always do my research and comparison shopping. Time & time again I keep going back to Chefs. Their products are unique, hard to find and good quality! Free shipping is one more positive aspect. This is one of several items that I purchased recently!

I am very pleased with these colanders. The holes, which I first thought would be too small, are perfect for all sorts of foods -- spaghetti, beans, blueberries, thawed spinach from a box... They are strong and very easy to clean as their surfaces are smooth regardless of their holes. It's nice to have them stand alone, too; my previous "colander" for years had been a large strainer with a handle.

I specifically purchased these colanders for keeping small pieces in the colander while draining, and they definitely do that well. Although I haven't used it for something as small as quinoa, it's been able to keep small pieces of vegetable from slipping through.
I purchased both sizes (the 3qt and 5qt), and I'd say the 3qt is perfect for most people who cook for one to three people. It holds enough pasta for side dishes for four or a meal for two or three.
Overall, I'd purchase these again.

So easy to clean!

It was time to retire the ugly plastic colander I bought at Walmart more than 10 years ago. I was looking for an upgrade rather than just a replacement. So, I decided to go with the Endurance 5 qt. The first thing I used it for was to drain angel hair pasta. None of the noodles slipped through the holes & it was so easy to clean. The plastic one was such a pain to clean & noodles always slipped through. It looks like the surface would be rough, but it is very smooth to the touch. Oh, and it looks super cool too! I would say it is money well spent because I don't think it will need to be replaced. And the ease of use & cleaning is worth every penny.

I love this colander because it is so easy to clean. My husband loves to cook pastas for salads, etc., and it so easy to clean the starch from pastas without soaking and scouring. I'm going to order the smaller one also -- and retire my old slotted colander.

This colander is a very good size for our use. We use it for draining pasta of all kinds primarily. It works great, cleans up easilty, and stores nicely without taking up too much space. Very good quality. Looks nice too !
Highly recommended.

While the size and dimensions are clearly marked, the 3 qt was smaller than expected. I subsequestly ordered the 5 qt. Both are more shallow than previous colanders I've owned. But really like the pierced holes -- the spaghetti being strained does not get caught so much in them.

I have used many colanders over the years. This is by far the best one yet. You can drain the smallest of pasta including pastina, orzo, etc.
Washes up very nice too.

A Good Basic Functional Colander

First thing I noticed about this colander when I removed it from the box was that it didn't look at all like the photo in the catalog. It is in fact a very low profile device, not deep. However, the capacity is apparently as advertised, and it does exactly what a colander is supposed to do. This one has the added benefit of being stainless steel so it is dishwasher safe. We have only used it once, so I cannot say anything about its durability over the long haul, but it appears to be well made and moderately sturdy.

Bought for my daughter. She loves it...and so do I. I love the small holes and the stand. The handles and shape are equally nice. For a one-colander household, this is the one to get. I think I'll get one myself!!

I saw these in the catalog many times and wanted to order them. When I finally splurged and ordered them I was disappointed. Not substantial enough for the price they want. Returned them.

This colander is sturdy, strong, beautiful and no kitchen should be without one. All the years i have purchased strainers and they broke, melted and I had to throw them away what a waste of money.
I will purchase these colanders for my family and friends so they have a perfect colander with an exciting future of uses..

My husband has wanted one of these to strain pasta, then place back in the pot to keep the pasta warm. The pasta does not get stuck in the holes, so it is easy to clean. The larger size model is perfect for a family of pasta lovers.
I like the shape, too. It is a little wider and not too deep, making it easier to get to the bottom.

bought the large and small. the metal seemed a little thin for the price, and for how they were described. but i do like that they are wider and more shallow than my current colanders. the stack nicely in a crowded cupboard. we'll see how they hold up.

Not small enough for Quinoa...I really didn't want to have to buy a true strainer (usually too small for how much Quinoa I cook at once) but whatever

I have been looking for a colander with a wide base for awhile. This product fits what I was looking for. It also is very sturdy and the small holes alllows me to strain or rinse anything including lentils. Love It!
