It was time to retire the ugly plastic colander I bought at Walmart more than 10 years ago. I was looking for an upgrade rather than just a replacement. So, I decided to go with the Endurance 5 qt. The first thing I used it for was to drain angel hair pasta. None of the noodles slipped through the holes & it was so easy to clean. The plastic one was such a pain to clean & noodles always slipped through. It looks like the surface would be rough, but it is very smooth to the touch. Oh, and it looks super cool too! I would say it is money well spent because I don't think it will need to be replaced. And the ease of use & cleaning is worth every penny.

I love this colander because it is so easy to clean. My husband loves to cook pastas for salads, etc., and it so easy to clean the starch from pastas without soaking and scouring. I'm going to order the smaller one also -- and retire my old slotted colander.

Since I replaced my old plastic colander ,clean up has been a breeze. No more sticking toothpicks in the holes to dislodge food particles. My new colander cleans in a jiff, hangs securely on its hook and takes up less space.

my spouse and I are getting up in age (70 +). All the colandas we have used was flimsey. Got worried of spouse or I getting burnt using old strainers, saw this one and bought it. It is strong and have handels. Perfect for us.

My old aluminum footed colander finally lost one of it's legs and I was lost without it. I really like this set of two. Very durable and sturdy.

Ahhhhhh beautiful colander, where have you been all of my life??? This colander is the best thing since sliced bread. I live alone so I bought the smaller 3 quart size. It's just big enough when cooking for one, or even for a small crowd. I've have many colanders over the years and this is the best. It's great for draining fine egg noodles and also for angel hair pasta...haven't lost a noodle yet. Even rice doesnt' fall through the holes!! It washes like a dream and the small holes don't get clogged like a mesh strainer does when draining any type of pasta or rice.
It stores nicely too. I have it hanging in my pantry right next to my large sauce pots.
You can't go wrong with this colander.

I have been searching for a replacement colander for a while now. After reading reviews here on Chef's Catalog I settled on this model. I was not disappointed. Yes, the price is a little high. But the quality is very good and it drains really well without having to constantly toss your food around. Purchase with confidence.

I chose this product after searching the internet for a stainless steel colander, size and no. of holes and size of colander. So impressed with description I purchased 2 for up and downstairs kitchens. I''ve used them for 2 weeks and extremely pleased that performance is exactly as described. Pleased they have handles and are easy to clean. If I ever look for more kitchen products, will go to Chefs website.

I have used the old plastic strainers for years, and although durable they do not have the cleanablity or look of these stainless steel strainers. The mesh size is perfect for the smallest pasta, and the noodles will not become trapped in the holes/slats as in my others strainers. I am not sure yet about the metal handles and if they will become hot if boiling water is poured through the product, but I will see. That is why I had to put a con on construction as I would like to have seen a covering on the handles.
