This steel is nice and thick on this wok skimmer. This skimmer performs well and I do not have to worry about the wires getting damaged due to the thick gauge of the steel used.

loved the slight curve to handle so you don't get burned. and meatal handel and basket a plus. old one was wooden and lasted only 2 years this should last a long time.Very pleased with the sevice and the product.

I've been looking for an all stainless steel skimmer with a long metal handle, so the handle would'nt absorb odors and transmit it to the food. I was so pleased to find one that I ordered the 14 inch and the 17 inch skimmer. I am very pleased with my purchase, as they are very well made.

Seen a review of this model on Create tv from one of the well known shows that does reviews and it was highly recommended. So I bought one for use in the kitchen and they were right! Angled head, solid handle, and ease of use is outstanding! Excellent perfomer in the kitchen. Has just enough of an angle that it keeps your hand out of the way of hot oil or steam and it makes getting goodies out of the pot or boiler. Highly recommended in our kitchen!

Much nicer looking in my utensil crock than my old brass and bamboo one. Cleans well in the dishwasher. My only criticism - i wish the entire handle was solid because some of the handles form other utensils I own get tangled in the open part of this handle. Other than that, it's great.

I've never done a "product review"; however, I feel compelled to share my story. I just received my stainless-steel skimmer from CHEFS and love it. I was going to purchase this same tool from Williams Sonoma which was on 'SALE' at $49 + SH. I decided to do a cost comparison at CHEFS.catalog.com and purchased the near-identical item for $19.95 w/FREE SH! The item is "near-identical" because the more costly item did not have a loop which provides an option to hang the utensil.
I love to cook and CHEFScatalog.com is my new source for the necessary and not-so-necessary kitchen tools/toys. Just love you!

The basket and handle on this item are just the right size. Washing/drying it as soon as you're done with it keeps it shiny and always ready to use next time.

A straining spoon that fits in my utensil jar, has a bowl that's not bigger that my pot diameter & a handle that won't give me splinters! It scoops more than twice what a slotted utility spoon can hold so you get pick up more than 2 ravioli at a time or keep the gravy juices in the Dutch oven for thickening while you scoop out the roast & veggies to the platter. A definite must-have for any cook who braises, fries or boils.
A non-metal 'twin' for non-stick pans needs to be addressed ASAP so I can buy that, too! (A slightly shallower bowl design would be nice.)
