I bought this knife sharpener to sharpen my chef's knives and my favorite paring knife. It sharpened them extremely quickly and easily. I am very please with this sharpener. It is also a great value.

I gave up long ago on using motor-driven knife sharpeners. They break easily, and the knife fails to get as sharp as I require for my use. A sharp knife is a safe knife.
This is the first unit of this type I have used. My other sharpeners (German) are excellent, but the Chef'sChoice Pronto Manual Diamond Hone Knife Sharpener #464
has the feature of pulling and pushing the blade through the honing slots.

I had a similar sharpener (with only one sharpening slot) by the manufacturer of my high-end knives. It sharpened okay, but seemed kind of low-quality, and I thought I could do better.
This Chef's Choice sharpener is similarly compact and easy to use (fits in the drawer) and the mechanism looks better-made. It puts a nice sharp edge on my knives, so it is doing what I wanted it to do, and doing it well.
A bit high priced for the apparent quality though. It's a little bit cheap and plastic-y, like much of the stuff we buy these days.

I purchased this hoping it might give a better edge to my expensive knives than the one I have been getting on the honing stick. Wow did it! I had no idea I could ever use my large chef's knife to slice straight through a tomato as though it were a serrated tomato knife! This purchase was a last-ditch effort before trying a totally different set of knives. Nope, it wasn't the knives!
