The Butter Bell Crock, Antique Style Collector's Edition

The Butter Bell Crock, Antique Style Collector's Edition : For centuries, Europeans have kept butter fresh on the table, ready to serve - even in hot, humid climates - without worry of butter going rancid. The secret is the way it's stored - not on a side plate or in a butter dish, it is preserved in an earthenware pot. Butter Bell stoneware inversion pot maintains butter's creamy smooth flavor and texture. Simply add water to the base and pack butter into the lid. The layer of water acts as an airtight seal when lid is inverted. No more trying to spread hard butter from the fridge. You'll actually use less butter on breads, vegetables, and potatoes, and save a few calories, too! Decorative embossed design is hand-distressed to create a rustic look. Dishwasher-safe. Holds 1 butter stick. 4 1/8"H x 3 3/4" Dia. (inverted). Ivory, white linen or sienna. Product Features Butter Bell keeps butter fresh up to 30 days without refrigeration Holds 1/2 cup of butter (1 stick) Butter stays smooth and creamy on your table Stoneware with embossed design

Received last week. Immediately loaded it with butter and added water to basin. Now every time I need butter for toast or biscuits it is soft and smooth and perfect. No more tearing up the bread trying to spread the butter. Love it!

I purchased this as a gift for my mother, who previously kept her butter in a bowl, without a cover, on her counter top. It got pretty runny and nasty during hot summer months.
She loves this butter bell, and can't stop talking about it. It looks good on her counter.
Best of all, the butter is fresh and perfect consistency for spreading.

Anyone who has tried to spread cold butter on bread knows it is absolutely frustrating to tear it up as you go. This crock works perfectly by keeping butter at room temperature on your counter while ensuring it doesn't ruin. The water acts as an air tight seal keeping the butter fresh and soft. I use mine all the time and could not be more happy with the purchase. It's great!

We live in southern Arizona, where most of the year we have to keep our butter in the refrigerator. After reading the reviews, we decided to give the butter bell a try, and it actually works! Since oil and water don't mix, the butter stays intact in the top of the bell, upside down in the water. The butter bell not only keeps the butter from melting, it's also a lot more sanitary than a standard butter dish.

Keeps Butter Fresh, Looks Great!

I was never a believer, until I tried it for the first time, it does really keep the butter fresher longer.. One tip, is that you should START with the crock completely packed - if you don't - an unpacked butter ball will pop out and splash about. I usually have fresh cold water in the fridge, so it's easy to change out every three to four days. Enjoy!

I've wanted one for a long time. I've now been using this daily and it is so nice to have butter softened and ready for toast or bread. What a nifty idea and looks great on the counter. I got the green one.

I have a another make of butter crock, but it really isn't attractive sitting on the counter. I wanted something that was attractive. Well this fit the bill. Very pretty. Love the colors, and keeps the butter fresh and soft for ease in spreading. Holds a 1/4 pd. of butter. Just great!

I'm very happy with my purchase. It keeps the butter well and the seal is tight. The color is a little deeper than I expected from the picture (I ordered sienna) but overall I am pleased with the color. I find it easy to fill and is getting a lot of use. I bought another as a gift.

Love this item. I have wanted a butter bell for a while now, and was happy to see them offered by Chef's. This allows you to keep soft butter out without it spoiling, which means I don't have to by artificial spreads to use. Holds one stick. It is well made and was priced appropriately.
In the kitchen, I'm never without: a mess

Butter Bell Crocks, Antique Style

I love Butter Bell crocks. As long as you remember to regularly change the water, the butter keeps beautifully. The only drawback to this "antique style" crock is that in real life it proved to be a much brighter green than what is shown in the catalog. The color just did not work in our kitchen.

I love it! Because I like my butter to be "spreadable", you can't have that when you have to keep it refrigerated. This crock keeps the butter at the perfect spreadableness without going ransid. Hard to believe a whole stick fits into that lid!
