The meat thermometer works fine, but the oven thermometer part doesn't truly register the oven temp until the roast is almost done. It takes forever for the temperature to register. I'm not as concerned with that - I really just need the meat thermometer part. The oven thermometer was just a bonus.

It works well, is easy to use. The people who criticized it for difficult instructions must have trouble figuring out most items............it is easy. Glad I got it.......now I know just how bad my oven is!

I have only used this twice so far but have had perfect results. I love the internal oven temp as well. It's very accurate and helpful. My only complaint is that when you set the desired temp, the numbers only scroll up. So if it's currently set at 165 and you want 125, you have to continue scrolling up until you hit the max setting and then it starts over again. Be carful not to bypass your desired temp or you have to scroll all the way through again. I find it a slight inconvenience but would still purchase it. It is still far better than any other I have used.

When the product arrived I had a very difficult time extracting the probe from its' "holder" When I finally got it out, the operation was confusing. I was trying to check how my oven rose and held temperature Since both the food and oven temperature scales change (and sometimes differ by 50 degrees F) the results were confusing until the oven was on a very long time. The instructions are also cryptic at best.
Pros: multi-purpose, size, Functional/Useful
Cons: Difficult to use, Performance, Support/instructions

Only used a few times, but when I have used it, it has performed exactly as described. Not only did I use it for a roast (which worked perfectly), but I used it when baking bread. Takes the guess work out of cooking resulting in perfect results. Would totally recommend it for people looking to make their lives easier.

I cannot fully rate this product on actual performance as I have not yet tried it out on a roast, which is why I didn't give 5 stars. However, it is a well-built unit and after going through numerous temperature sensors, this has the promise of a long life. The probe construction including the braided cable lend themselves to surviving frequent use and the dual temperature feature is the most appealing to me, as oven temperatures have always been a concern. I can use this simply as an oven temperature probe without risk of damage as it is rated to go to high temperatures unlike other units that are limited to less than 300F for measuring meat temperature.

My wife opened this as a Christmas gift and it was put to use almost immediately with our Christmas ham. First, it showed us that our oven thermostat was 5 degrees too cool and we adjusted the temperature setting accordingly. As the cooking progressed we could watch the oven temperature vary with the pre-set temp right in the middle. The meat was done almost an hour earlier than the cooking instructions said it would be. If we'd relied on cooking time alone, we'd have ruined the ham. It came out perfectly baked. If the thermometer holds up over time we'll be very pleased with this product. It was a little tricky setting the temperatures, though.

I bought one for myself and now one for my daughter. It shows both oven and food temperture. I used it on turkey, beef roast and pulled pork. It also has an alarm that lets you know when the food is done. It is very handy. I also use it when I grill whole chickens and larger cuts of meat.

Took accurate temperature readings. Meat probe comes to temperature quickly, but oven temp takes a while. The oven temp button is also kind of messed up on mine - would have returned it if I didn't need to use it so quickly.

I have only used this thermometer a few times. I purchased it to use in my smoker/grill. It allowed me to monitor both the grill temperature and well as the meat internal temperature.
Since I am using this product in a kamado style grill I would have like a longer lead line for a more convenient placement of the display box, For oven use the length is just fine.

Not a great thermometer, but it works okay. Not sure the oven temperature readout is accurate. I'll give it a bit more use and check the readouts for accuracy before I pass final judgment. Stay tuned.

I would not want to cook Châteaubriand ever again without this tool. Constant monitoring of the internal temperature of food coooking in the oven is just epic! The oven part of the dual sensor is surprisingly informative -- my oven is a 2003 model and I thought it was fairly accurate but it varies much more than I expected. Another great feature is that this unit uses a standard (AA) battery. My only complaint is the buttons require a rather firm push.
