I have smaller hands and found the longer blade chefs knife to be a little cumbersome to use and was delighted to find the 6 inch blade in my favorite brand. I liked it so well I bought 3 more for gifts!

We use these knives ourselves and are very pleased. Decided to send this particular one for Christmas gifts to several in our family. We are not chefs, but we love to cook and use this knife more than any other. The knife also comes with a sheath, which is extremely helpful for storing. Would highly recommend it, at any cooking level!!

My favorite knife

I found this knife reviewed by chefs in two different cooking magazines as their "favorite chef knife". As the owner of a cooking school I tried it out and have been impressed at how sharp the blade stays - far superior to more expensive knives I have purchased. It is also light weight and has a very comfortable handle which makes a huge difference when doing a lot of chopping. This is the only chef knife I use at my school now. I recently bought 2 more to give as gifts for my sons in college. I think they will love it!
Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, balanced, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to store, easy to use, Ergonomic handle, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting, Material, multi-purpose, Non-slip handle, Performs Well, quality, size, Value for Money, Warranty, Weight

My sister sent me the 6" version of this knife for Christmas. She purchased it from Chefs. I liked it so much that I ordered the 8" Victorinox from Chefs. These knives are razor sharp, ,they are well balanced and very comfortable in my hand. The 8" was rated by Cook's Illustrated magazine as the "best inexpensive chef's knife." I trust Cook's Illustrated and Chefs. I am certain I will enjoy these knives for years. Thank you, Chefs, for carrying such high quality products.

I chose this knife because I needed a step up from the Chicago Cutlery type and didn't want to pay big bucks for a Wusthof. I wasn't disappointed - it slices through meat and vegetables like butter, virtually effortlessly. Since this knife arrived in my kitchen, I rarely use anything else. It seems very well constructed, and the non-slip handle feels extremely comfortable to use. I own the 6" version - it is just the right size and weight for my small hands, and is much easier to control than the 8" chef's knife I was using previously.

Light, Strong, Sharp

Cook's Illustrated recommends this knife and I've been curious to try it. It's light, strong, comfy to use, sharp, and easy to sharpen, and care for. It's taken more years than it should have to teach me that lighter knives allow me to chop, slice, and dice longer and more precisely because I don't get tired. My more expensive knife, a Japanese chef's knife, is terrific but a little fragile for cutting hard vegetables so it is not all-purpose. I'm quite pleased with this one and the price is sure right.

This is my favorite knife. The 6" size is perfect for a woman's hand. It stays sharp, is nicely weighted and I don't feel bad about throwing it in the dish washer. I bought more to give as gifts. A great knife at a great price.

I have been looking at chef knives for a while. I am not in the market for professional cutlery but I wanted quality for my home use. This knife meets my needs. I really like the texture of the handle; it doesn't slip with if my hands are wet.

These are the best knives - I also have the 10 and 8 inch plus just recently purchased the paring knives. Light, sharp, holds their sharpness and easy to manuver with.
I have owned just about ever kind there is from the most expensive to the cheap ones at a discount store. These are the best by far - and the price is great.

I think it's impossible to find a bad review for this knife. The handle is nothing pretty to look at, but oh so comfortable! Then there's the blade ... it is exceptionally sharp, and fun to use for cutting and chopping. For me, the blade is a little bigger than the knife it's replacing, but it is so well balanced that it hasn't been intimidating in the least. Buy one and enjoy!

Love that Knife

Without a doubt, this is the best chef's knife I have had in my many years of cooking. It fits my hand and seems to require less effort to do chopping for salad and does a beautiful job slicing cheese. Possibly the best part is the price which is less than half of what I previously paid for a knife which just can't cut it!

I believe I saw this knife being rated on American Test Kitchen or a similar program. It got high praise. Furthermore, nobody is going to confuse me with the Galloping Gourmet. In addition, I often wondered how the professionals made chopping and slicing look so easy. Now, I know. This knife is perfect match between handle and blade. If you want to make life easier for yourself in the kitchen I would highly recommend this knife no matter where you on the culinary skill scale. Did I mention price? Signed one single senior citizen who also does Salsa- on the dance floor that is.
