This is definitely a new favorite for our kitchen. We enjoy big comfort meals in our Breville Slowcooker., & our family agrees that our slow cooked food is the best. On a scale of 1to 10, I rate the Breville 7 Quart Slowcooker as a 10. It's absolutely the best slowcooker I've ever purchased.

This slow cooker is the best. The fact that I can brown and sear all in the same pot reduces cleanup and permits all the juices to be integrated into the flavor of whatever is being cooked.
As a busy working mom, I love a quick and delicious dinner ready when I arrive home. Crockpot cooker for many years, my family's size and appetite finally outgrew (by a lot) my old crockpot's capacity. I was looking for a large unit with a removable insert that could be used on the stovetop for browning meats. This met all my criteria and hasn't disappointed me in any way at all. I have used it any number of times and everything I've made in it has come out fabulous. Thanks Chefs for making such a great product available!
I love to use a slow cooker to prepare meals and usually do so once a week. I had the type with the ceramic pot and unfortunately they cracked. I saw the Breville slow cooker and thought I would try it. It is fantastic. And I know that the metal will last a very long time. The only complaint I have is that the slow cooker bags are too small for it.... but I think I can live with that.
I bought the slow cooker as a gift for my husband because he's the cook in our house. At first he was puzzled why we would want one because we are retired and aren't at work during the day. He then decided to make a thick vegetable soup and simmered it on low for many hours. He was pleased that it was something we didn't have to watch constantly. It worked beautifully. He also really likes the fact that you can braise in it over the stove. The only negative is the lack of a timing mechanism. There were other brands that had timers, but I don't think they were as well reviewed.

I purchased this slowcooker as a christmas present; therefore, I really cannot comment on its particular use. However, I can tell you that I own and use frequently a larger and much more expensive slowcooker with all the same features on the Breville. I read many reviews of this cooker prior to purchasing on many sites. The constant 'wish' was for a timer which I find not so cumbersome since you expect 'slow cooking'. CHEFS offered the lowest price and the delivery was prompt. I will definitely be a CHEFS customer in the future. Thank You, CHEFS!

Browns on stove top, transfers to slow cooker

Thanks to the people who previewed this appliance and helped my decision. This is a little large for my needs and for many slow cooker recipe books, but the main attraction was the ability to pre-cook, brown, or sear on the stove top, then transfer the inner unit to the main cooker to continue cooking. Although the inner unit is non-stick, it did brown food and enables me to adapt my own recipes then complete cooking in this appliance rather than in the oven. I had returned another brand to another store because it boiled, even on low. While the Breville does not simmer in the classical (occasional bubble) sense, I measured a temp of 180 degrees F while seeing regular, but not furious, bubbling. A curry of 3 lb of chicken thighs placed directly in the base of the cooker with a partially pre-cooked sauce added around the meat, produced well cooked meat still holding the bone at 4.5 hours, falling apart meat at 6 hours. This included opening the lid twice for a quick check and stir. I slow-cooked for longer as the onions should have been pre-cooked for longer. The Breville looks good enough to stand on the countertop.

I HAVE HAD MY SLOW COOKER A WEEK. I HAVE COOKED PULLED PORK TURNED OUT FANTASTIC. COOKED A POT OF CHILLIE WITH EGGPLANT AND ZUCCINI RIGHT OUT OF THE GARDEN, AND GROUND VINNISON. RAVE REVIEWS FROM ALL THE NEIGHBORS. AND YESTERDAY A POT ROAST WITH EVERYTHING FROM THE GARDEN AND I DO MEAN EVERYTHING.. BEST I HAVE EVER TASTED AND I COOKED IT ALL MYSELF. BROWNING THE BEEF FIRST AND ONIONS MADE ALL THE DIFERENCE.

i like being able to cook on stovetop and move to slow cooker easily; and it has an unbreakable metal lid and silicone handles on lid and removable pan.

I did alot of research before purchasing this item. I think it is great. I have had no problems with its use. I used it the first day I received it and it works as described. I compared other more expensive units and this one had much better reviews hands down. I would recommend this product to anyone who likes to cook!!

We love this slow cooker! After going through 2 cookers with ceramic inserts which broke, the Breville is excellent. We love that we can sear meats or start stews in it on the stovetop and then put it in the cooker. It heats evenly and isn't too "hot" on high as some cookers are. The non-stick surface makes for easy cleanup, and even when it's full of food it's not too heavy to carry--we take ours to church potlucks often.

I currently own a 15 year old Rival slow cooker that has worked like a horse but it is too small for my growing family. I spent at least a month reviewing slow cookers because I wanted to get it right the first time. I read the reviews on the All-Clad, overpriced and the ceramic insert seems to crack easily. The Breville had 5 star reviews and everyone seemed to love it? I also reviewed to Cuisinart which had great reviews except for one person didn't give it high reviews simply because they had not owned it long? I decided to purchase the Breville, it arrived with the heating unit warped so it wasn't level and wobbled on my counter top, the insert did not fit snuggly in the heating unit which would cause heat loss and to top it off the lid did not even come close to fitting on the pot, I believe at the end of the day all of the moisture would have leaked out. I was very disappointed and I returned the unit and ordered the Cuisinart instead, everything fits snug it sets firm on my countertop and it works great, I love it!

I really like the idea of going from the stove to the body of the slow cooker. Saves time when you have to brown or steer the meat you are going to cook.

I have a small 4 qt slow cooker with a pan that allows me to brown meat on the stove and then use the slow cooker to finish the cooking process. I've worn it out and was looking for a solid 7 qt slow cooker and this Breville is it! I don't need nor did I want electronic controls...I just needed a simple knob with a few settings. Breville's design is excellent and a great price. I had been looking at a $400 slow cooker that had terrible reviews. For the money, I am very happy with this product.

Years ago I had a slow cooker with an 'AUTO' setting - I loved it. Upgraded to a larger one but there were none with the AUTO setting. This one has it all, larger, a browning capability which saves an extra pan when you're in a hurry and an Auto setting.
