Cuisinart CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Filtration System, WCH-1500

Cuisinart CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Filtration System, WCH-1500 : The Cuisinart CleanWater Countertop Filtration System is better than bottled water because it reduces contaminants that may alter water's taste and purity. It reduces the potentially harmful contaminants found in ordinary tap water: lead, mercury, chlorine and more. Filtration system purifies water drawn from your faucet and saves the expense of bottled water and the waste of plastics. You'll taste the difference from tap water immediately. Unlike cumbersome floor models, the Clean Water system fits on a kitchen countertop, in a living room or office. The 2-gallon system with 2 spigots features 3 temperature-button selections: room temperature, cold or hot water dispensing for instant tea, coffee or hot cereal. Internal water tanks store hot water separately from the cold water. For safety, the hot button features a manual locking mechanism. Energy-saving switch lets you turn off the heating function and save up to 50% energy usage. When the Green LED light is on, you will know that the hot water function is off. This unit is equipped with an LED light indicator to show when water is purified and ready to drink. The lid also features a 12-week timer to alert you when it's time to change the filter, so you won't have to manually track the time elapsed between filter changes. Clean Water system ensures fresh filtered water for drinking and meal preparation. WQA (Water Quality Association) approved, tested and certified. Water tank removes easily for refilling. I received this item as a gift ,and am very pleased with it. I love the stainless steel. I also like the fact that I can not only have cold drinking water, but I can also have room temperature to water my plants in my office, and can have hot water for my morning tea. I think that the constrution of the item is solid and expect to be able to use this product for many years. I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to others.

It's easy to fill and dispense. However, it's noisier than my refrigerator; almost as noisy as the stove's air extractor fan.
Great for a single cup if tea or a cold drink.
Pros: Easy to change/Empty filter, easy to use, capacity
Cons: Cord Length, Noise

Awsome! Once you figure out how to make it usable.
First, It is a challenge to get the thing set up but don't give up, you will eventually get it.
Secondly, The only water temps that are useable are the cool and room temps. The hot water is not what it's cracked up to be. The energy cost of using it out weighs the benefits of having hot water for a cup of tea. There is a "energy saver" mode that they tell you to use but it is really just turning it off. Then when you need hot water you turn it back on and it takes 15 minutes to get hot again. I'd rather just use my microwave. Also, leaving the hot water on causes the room temperature water to heat up as well. Then your stuck with very warm room temp water. None of this is cool.
Lastly, everytime you get a glass of water the tank ends up half empty. This is because the 2 gallons of water you put in it goes into different basins. Some goes into the room temp basin, the hot basin and the cool basin. Each basin holds around 2 glasses so everytime you get a glass you need to fill it. I now keep a water jug on the counter next to it just for refilling it.
The water taste is great so that is good. This product is great but it has to be worked to make it work for you.
P.S. The filter timer is actually a joke. It doesn't tell you if your filter is ready to be changed or not. It only tells you that it has been 3 months since you set it. It's only a timer not a monitor of any sort.
Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, construction, Easy to Clean/Wash, Weight
Cons: Difficult to use, Performance

I bought water dispenser when the option on my LG refrigerator died and could not be repaired. I have to say I am quite pleased with this purchase. It is quite easy to use and I can get hot water for oatmeal and tea! I do wish it were noiseless, but for the most part I love it!
