I owned a Kitchenaid blender with a glass jar for over five years and used it continuously. I liked my previous model so much that when it came time to buy a new one, I chose this model as it is very comparable. So far, it has been great. I like the glass jar and the construction seems to be excellent. I would recommend it!

High Value

The KiitchenAid blender provides a remarkable level of quality for a modest price. It is a well thought out design as well.
For example the buttons used to operate the variable speeds are flush with the control panel. This eliminates the possiblity of food particles or other debris building up around those controls. Rarely requiring cleaning, if it should be needed Just wipe the control panel with a damp sponge or cloth and you are finished.
Another quality touch is the blender jar. It is made out of thick glass not the more commonly encountered plastic.
At whatever speed you select, for the first few seconds the motor will deliberately start slowly. This is done so that the blades can more efficiently pull the food into the center for better mixing. Then the vigorous motor kicks into whatever seting you have chosen.
I selected the cobalt blue color. It looks good but is a bit darker than I wished. Overall I think this is a fine product.

Nice solid & heavy duty blender. Is wider than tall so doesn't take up as much room. Love the red! Great price too.

deplorable KitchenAid blender

Impossible to remove the glass jar from plastic collar for cleaning prior to first use. Product comes assembled and usage manual only states how to assemble jar & collar. Used instructions in reverse and still couldn't remove jar. Underside of collar has flimsy movable plastic rings likely to snap when too much pressure is used to remove jar. This is a poor replacement for the original KA blender with glass jar that I owned.
New plastic gear assembly that fits into coupler is likely to break as readily as former rubber assembly crumbled due to friction. Dark shade of grey used on lid is seriously ugly with white blender, former white blender had white lid. It is rare to find a blender with a solid motor and glass jar these days so this was a huge disappointment, as I couldn't even use it due to poor design. Shame on you KitchenAid, your standards are slipping.
In the kitchen, I'm never without: sturdy cotton apron with double front pocket & d-ring at the neck
Favorite Brand: JK Adams cutting boards, Rosle, Fat Daddio's bakeware, KitchenAid, All-Clad, Wusthof, Volrath utensils
Cons: Quality, Difficult to use, Construction, Maintenance, Appearance

This replaces a 25 year old KitchenAid Blender that bit the dust in the sense that the blade separated from its gear drive and I have not been able to find a replacement part that actually fit (a "universal" blade further chewed up the machine).
Glass Jar is of an appropriate weight. The unit itself seems sturdy enough. Time will tell.

I brought it a week ago. I thought it's much powerful then my old one(350W). It should blend much thinner, but the size of dregs are the same. If you put max mount water(6 cup) and run it. water will come out, even you coved it. I still try to fig out where the water come from?

The blender is a nice exchange for our 20-year old blender. It is very well made and works well. We have made gazpacho and Pisco Sours and both turned out excellent. I have no complaints about the slow start on speeds - it works. So far, very pleased with the blender and with the quick shipping time from Chef's.

Very disappointed. I liked the performance, but, after using it for a while, I decided to take it apart to better clean it, following the manufacturers directions. I could not get it back together. The plastic base of the jar is too complex, and something slipped out of a groove, and no matter what I did, I could not put it back together. Kitchen Aid is sending me a new part, but it's back ordered for several weeks (like 6-8), so now I am stuck in the height of smoothie season without a blender. I would not buy this product again.
Cons: Difficult to use, broke very quickly

This is a fantastic blender with great capacity and enough power to make multiple smoothies with frozen mangoes, straberries, etc. We love the glass blender jar, it is easy to clean and not too heavy to store in a lower cabinet. Five speeds are all you need.
