This cast iron skillet met all my expectations and more.
It is so deep that frying almost anything is easy. Chicken frys uniformly and browns nice and crispy.
It is heavy but that's what I wanted. I plan on adding a few other 'Lodge' pieces to my cookware down the road.
Pros: even cooking, construction, capacity, quality

I guess I forgot that I was ordering a cast iron skillet! Was alittle disappointed when it arrived (it is so heavy) but after using it I am glad I made a mistake when I ordered it. It heats evenly, cleans up easily & relaly appreciated that it was already "seasoned".

Heavy, Strong, Well seasoned - exactly noted in the product description. It matches perfectly to my Early American interia kitchen with Gas stove. Because it is very heavy, personally I do no think it is a good idea to use it for induction tops (which I also have in my kitchen in my 2nd house) I have so far 3 of Lodge Logic Cast Iron which I use for Camping purpose as well. All of them are beautifully manufactured and I am sure I will keep adding more different size/types. Love all!

I purchased this for my daughter. My Grandmother always cooked fried chicken in a deep cast iron skillet and swore that it was the best ever. Easy, even cooking every time. I wanted my daughter to keep the tradition in our family going. The service I received from Chefs was fantastic.

What can one say? Cast iron is the way to go! Bought this deep skillet to fry chicken in and it turned out to be the best decision I made! Was in the market for a deep fryer, did the usual comparison shopping on skillets and deep fryers, even considered buying a $250 skillet at Willams Sonom.....well, you know the place if you like to cook. But when it came down to it, this skillet did the job like a charm! Fired the oil up to 375, which in this skillet was a matter of seconds, (it's the muscle car version of skillets, as far as getting that temperature up to where you need it right away!) Fried chicken came out golden in color and extremely juicy and flavorful after 14 minutes of bathing in this bad boy at 350 (skillet maintained that temperature drop the whole time).
Why pay more? Just buy this skillet, and sit back and enjoy your meals.

I had smaller cast iron but wanted a larger one because I was getting into cooking one dish dinners. This skillet is 2 inches larger and comes with the lid. Plus it's deeper and I can pile in the ingredients. I love it.

Nice depth

I've been slowly replacing 20 year old Anolon pots and pans and I really needed a covered/flat bottomed large skillet. I decided to try cast iron again after years of not using it. This 12 inch pan is very deep so if you want to fry in it there is sufficient depth to prevent oil from spilling out. Granted, it's not non-stick, but if you know how to remove stuck on food it's really not a big deal. Lodge even provides instructions for people who aren't familiar with that problem. It's preseasoned, unlike old cast iron, and all I did was spray it with Pam. Cleaning it wasn't a problem, just used a nylon brush and hot water as recommended. (I purposely let turkey sausage stick to see how it cleaned up.) Lid is nice, as you can see through it. For the money, this is a really good buy, as cast iron outlasts all other cookware. I won't be throwing it in the garbage in 20 years like I did with the worn out Anolon cookware.
Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to store, easy to use, even cooking, Functional/Useful, Heat distribution, Heat retention, Long-lasting, Material, multi-purpose, Performs Well, quality, size, Tight-fitting lid, Value for Money, Warranty
