Rises to the Occasion

I have been using the Zojirushi Mini bread baker for a couple of years, and it has served me well. I prefer traditional long loaves (the Mini makes tall loaves) so I had been mostly using the dough cycle, then shaping the loaf for a second rise in a standard bread pan, then baking in the oven. This works well, but ties me to the house for several hours. So I opted for the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme which bakes excellent bread -- just put in the ingredients, press the start button, and beautiful bread is ready in about 4 hours (2 hours if you use rapid rise yeast and the quick cycle). It's easy to use and clean (don't put the bread pan in the dishwasher, but the non-stick interior rinses easily). The basic recipes result in a large loaf with slices that peek out over the top of the toaster; reducing the recipe amounts by 25% results in the perfect loaf for me. This is easily the best home bread maker on the market -- expensive but worth the price and the counter space.

This is the first bread machine I've owned and I am sure glad I decided to go with the Zojirushi! So far I have used it three times to bake bread and once to make sweet dough for a braided loaf, and I have absolutely loved the results.
The only difficulty I've had is getting the paddles properly seated. I've had to dig through the dough to reseat the right one twice after realizing it wasn't engaging but that can probably be attributed to my own carelessness.
I really don't think you can go wrong with this machine. Happy baking!
In the kitchen, I'm never without: Cream cheese and bacon!

I've used this machine three times. I'm still trying to get used to it. It kneads wonderfully. The bread turns out very tender. I don't like that I can't control the crust color on the wheat cycle. My wheat bread had a very dark crust. The dough cycle worked well. I made a loaf of spelt bread on the quick cycle and it turned out perfectly. With my old machine my spelt bread would sink. It didn't in this one. One other thing that I noticed is that one side seems to bake hotter than the other side. The machine seems to work well overall.

Not worth the extra money

I went from a "Breadman" to this because of all the reviews saying what a wonderful machine this was and I wanted a conventional shape loaf. I got a rectangular loaf that is colapsed on top. It can't seem to make a good looking loaf of bread with a good crumb. On Medium Crust the top of the loaf is very light brown and the bottom is crunchy and hard. I didn't buy this to make jam or meatloaf but if it doesn't make them any better than it bakes bread it is a total waste of money.

I've always hesitated to buy a bread maker as I felt the expense was too great for what I would get in product. How wrong I was!
The Zojirushi Bakery Supreme is worth every cent I paid. You just can't get any easier than this bread maker plus. It truly is "state of the art". Easy to use, very simple directions, great recipes. I just love this product and would recommend it to anyone who might be thinking about buy one. I thought at first it was a bit expensive....until I saw what it can do. Definitely worth it!!!

I love this item. It is relatively new in my home (about 1 month) but I use it a least 2 times a week. I had to give away store bought bread because my family likes the homemade bread so much more. Plus, fresh baked bread is a great air freshener for the home! I also made strawberry jam and it turned out great.

Made 1 loaf plain and 1 by sour dough starter. Taste and consistency fair. Dough stayed to one side of the pan after kneading and I had to move and fix before baking.

Within the first 10 days, I have used the Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme to make three different types of bread. All three came out as beautiful as a picture and very tasty.
The machine is very simple to use and there is virtually no clean up.
I don't plan to use "store bought" bread any more!

Followed the recipe book that came with the machine, and I made the best Italian herb bread ever. And it was so simple! After much research this seemed like the best machine to replace my other one. The loaf was also beautiful, looked like a real loaf of bakery bread!

A Worthy Replacement

I bought the original Zojirushi Home Bakery in 1987. After all these years it finally broke down and I replaced it with this one. It does an outstanding job. The bread loaves are wonderful--nice and high. Also, the recipes have been updated. No more do you use milk--you use water and a little powdered milk for the best results.
The raisin bread recipe still mashes them up and they settle at the bottom of the pan so I'll need to play with when to add the raisins--at the start of the beep seems too early. I haven't tried the cake, jam, or meatloaf recipe. However, I wanted to buy a bread machine and that's what I got--it bakes bread beautifully. I don't think I'd buy any other name than the Zojirushi.
Pros: Cord length, Easy to Clean/Wash, Value for Money, quality, Material, easy to use, True to Color, Low noise, construction, size, Appearance/ Design /Style, Performs Well, easy to store, durability, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting, Easy to view/Read, capacity
Cons: add ingredients feature
