Quality and durability are uppermost in my expectations of cookware and this product delivers just that. I have bought the more inexpensive cooling racks and I have always been disappointed. Not so with the CIA Chrome Cooling Rack. This product will withstand considerable wieght and is easy to wash. The grids do not break like many of the other cooling racks that I have purchased. These cooling racks will become a valuable assest to your culinary equipment. Easy to clean, durable and high quality makes these racks a must have in your kitchen.

These are the best cooling racks I have ever held in my hand. I bake bread about 5-6 times a month and often use my cooling racks for other purposes like resting roasted meats. I had no idea how poor the racks I have been using were until I got these. I was looking for dishwasher safe, rust free and heft. I got all 3.

I use this rack to broil fish and it is terrific! I love crispy fish skin. The rack allows the fat to drop out of oily fish and provides a stable surface for delicate fish.

After having soaked and struggled to clean my old cooling racks, and tried to straighten them after cooling heavy items on them, I finally had had enough, and went straight to Chef's Catalog and found these beauties. I've used them at least twice a week for a month, and they perform well, not just for cooling but for baking bacon and baked potatoes in the oven. They are built solidly, distribute heat evenly, and require minimal cleanup.

I’ve been searching high and low for the right non stick baking rack and this was the winner. It’s sturdy and the grates are small enough so nothing falls through or gets stuck. Love it!

I used this cooling rack to bake candied bacon the very first time it was used. The rack was perfect and performed like a champ. The only down side: it was a pain to clean after the brown sugar melted in the grid. But it cleaned fine and shines like new again. I would rebuy this product and recommend it to a friend.

This rack is sturdier than ones I have used before. It is well made and looks attractive. I use it primarily to cool baked dishes, especially things like cornbread that you don't want to "sweat" and lose it's crisp bottom.

I have been searching for a cooling rack that would fit perfectly in a jelly roll pan for months. Your catalog clearly explained the jelly roll pan size needed for the rack to fit perfectly. Believe me, this was not found in the big kitchen stores that I have searched. I was thrilled and the price was very reasonable.

It's a cooling rack, so not too complicated, and it serves the purpose.
However, there was a stunning lack of quality control. Several of the wires were bent and/or welded out of alignment. This did not appear to be shipping damage but rather poor manufacturing--if the wire had been bent during shipping then it would not still be welded to the crossing wire.
Not worth the hassle of a return, and it functions fine, but really this shouldn't have gotten through the QC folks.
Pros: Functional/Useful

The photos and descriptions on the Web site don't really do the product justice. The grid is small enough and supportive enough for tuiles and madeleines yet does not make unwanted impressions in soft cookies and pastry items. The crossbars provide support for heavy items such as roasting pans, enameled iron cookware and copper cookware. Wonderful.

This is the first grid cooling rack I have ever seen. It prevents the cookies from falling through and keeps them flat while cooling. Stored "feet" together, two racks take up very little space in the cabinet.
