Not sure why I need three but they are the best tongs ever. I'm not sure how to explain why but they do not slip or fling open while turnig food or picking up food on grill or plate. They lock closed with ease for ease of storage or use. Everyone needs at least on one.

I tend to cook meals that are:Healthy
Good tongs. I purchased the 12" tongs with the locking feature. Easy to grip, locking feature works with ease, and they seem to be made with good quality materials. 12" is not too long, because I do all types of cooking, and the extra length comes in handy when I'm deep frying foods in a deep pot. In retrospect, I would like to have the tips with silicone coating for my non-stick cookware. No big deal, I'm just careful with what I'm doing.

I bought these tongs to replace my old ones with the sliding band lock mechanism. These new tongs open and lock with a much easier to use motion. Glad I got them.

Of course, you could spend less on tongs at some discount store. But put that discount store set of tongs side-by-side with the OXO tongs, and it will be apparent that they can't hold a candle to OXO.
The ergonomics are EXCELLENT. They look great. But, they are very functional. They feel and perform like a extension of your hand.
