I love this yogurt maker. When visiting my goddaughter in Boston she was making yogurt for her little son and said how good it was. I tasted it and ordered one when I got home. I also ordered one for my son's family for Christmas. I have learned that 1 percent milk makes it too thin but 2 percent is perfect in texture and thickness!!!!!

I bought this product and accessories based on the reviews. One stated she wished she had purchased the Top Tier Rack, good thing I listened, my husband is now eating yogurt. Also purchased extra jars and cheese bag, I drain most of the liquid off about 6 to 7 hours. The Euro Cuisine Digital worked beautifully, I did not have to worry about getting the timing correct. Using the Top Tier Rack I just cooked it for another hour, came out PERFECT!!!

This yogurt maker worked perfectly the very first time. I added 1/3 cup of dry milk to ensure thick, tasty yogurt as I used to with my older but smaller capacity yogurt maker. I eat yogurt daily and was getting tired of paying so much for quality yogurt in the stores. The organic plain commercial yogurt that I like costs $1.99 per 6 oz. I save about $12 every time I use the Euro-Cuisine yogurt maker. That's a savings of $50/month. Definitely worthwhile to get this product. It makes great yogurt and saves a bundle!

I've used the yogurt maker twice since I've received it and I'm very pleased with the results. The yogurt is smooth, creamy and delicious. You still need to heat the milk to 180 degrees and then let it cool to 110 degrees, so there's no time savings with the prep work, but then you can load the maker up with the little jars of yogurt, set the timer, turn it on and go about your day. The ease is similar to using a crock pot. They only draw back is that the individual jars seem small to me, approximately 7 oz.

I purchased this yoghurt maker from Chef's about 3 months ago when I found out that I can make yoghurt with Lactaid milk. I purchased this particular model because of the auto-shut off, the ease of cleaning, and the convenience of the individual jars. On the jar one can select the date the yoghurt is made; no more guessing how fresh it is. This is a well crafted, well thought out product. The only difference between this model (stainless steel body) and the white or black one in the auto-shut off. The $10 difference in price is a minimal amount to pay for the convenience. Buy the model with the auto-shut off, you won't regret it. . I am very, very pleased with this purchase.

My only regret is that I have not bought this yogurt maker earlier. I did not even know that it existed. It prepares excellent yogurt, just follow the instructions. I will not be buying yogurts anymore because now I can make them myself at a fraction of a cost, and I know exactly what it is made of. No artificial coloring and other questionable ingredients.

Great tasting Greek Yogurt

I bought this to make my own Greek yogurt with and I was not disappointed. This makes better yogurt than the store bought kind and I save more money. The prep time is minimal so I enjoy making my own fresh yogurt. I boil some whole milk with some half n half to 180, then let it cool to 110, add some plain yogurt for a starter and whip that in and then fill the jars up. I set mine for 10 hours, which is perfect then pop the jars in the refrigerator. There is so much you can do with the yogurt after it is made so use your imagination. It's a lot of fun.
Another option I use, is to put a 7 cup glass Pyrex bowl that fits inside to make a big batch of yogurt in. The extra jars are helpful too. I ordered those at the same time. I would highly suggest the extra jars so you can have a batch in the fridge and one in the yogurt maker! This unit is awesome from my very first batch!

Great Product - Great Store

We love yogurt in my house and watching my wife going into the trouble to do it every day, I decided to surprise her with a yogurt maker, I did an extensive research online and no product came close to the benefits an ratings this one holds, so no surprise for me that my wife is delighted with how easy it is making yogurt using the “Euro-Cuisine Automatic Digital Yogurt Maker” and I am enjoying better quality yogurt than those offered in stores.
About a month after we received our yogurt maker it was not able to fully warm up to the required temperature, I understand this can happen, but I was upset about having to start making calls to find out if the manufacturer has service centers around the area I live and if they offer any warranty. To my surprise when I called CHEFS, a very polite service representative informed me that CHEFS offers 100% guarantee for life, if for any reason I am not satisfied with my purchase and even when I called after a month they will pay for my return shipping and refund my money or exchange the product. Wow, I just put everything back in its case, used a label that they already provided with my order to have it scanned at the FEDEX office and waited for my new “Euro-Cuisine Automatic Digital Yogurt Maker”, I didn't have to spend a dime… I am so happy with my yogurt maker and CHEFS that I won’t even think on buying any kitchen product anywhere else…

The digital timer holds the time correctly. I had one with a mechanical dial timer and it was off by hours - I sent it back to another store.
This is big enough to put my pyrex mixing bowl in to make the yogurt. It's easy to use and makes good yogurt.

Yogurt Makes with Top Tier

This is my 2nd Cuisine Yogurt Maker and it lasted for several year 4-5. I was happy with it and adapted it, as below, to use it with quart jars occasionally. I recently purchased the new Euro-Cuisine Auto Digital Yogert Maker from Chefs and have been using it with my homemade insulating cover as below.
I prefer the 14 small jars to quart jars.
Some reviewers have noted that top tier jars do not get as firm as lower jars. I simply made a cover of silver bubble insulation material (about 1/4" thick). You can get small rolls of it from the likes of Hardware Stores.
Cut a piece(easily cut with sissors), the height of the top tier+cover( about 7 1/4") Make this piece is wide enough to circle the maker+ enough room to slide over the lip of the upper cover (about 32 1/2") and it will rest on top and fit with a bit to spare around the entire unit.. NOTE: This will not hang down over the heating unit!!!
.Tape that into a cylinder with Gorilla Tape or Wide Packing Tape (heat get to the latter eventually) Then cut a disk the diameter of the top of the cylinder using the same insulating material and tape
it onto the top of the cylinder.
. Set your timer as you normally would and check on it when you expect it to be finished. I don't leave it sit covered after the yogurt in finished.
I get evenly thickened upper and lower jars every time. You can adjust for firmness of yogurt just as the manual describes.
It is cheap and simple and I used this same idea on my old Cuisine brand yogurt maker, which was
only one tier, to be able to make yogurt in quart jars using only the homemade cover as a lid (cut a bit smaller to fit the prior unit.). It worked for years.
I would caution that I am not sure how it would affect the heating unit itself, if it is wraped with in insulation, so I do not come down over the heating unit itself. It might shorten the life of the Maker! Perhaps Chefs or the Maker of the Machine might comment on this.
I certainly would give this unit a 5 if the upper insulation were more even with the lower jars. But the adaption above works.

I love this yogurt maker! I used the recipe included in the owner's manual and each time I have made the yogurt it has come out perfect: rich, creamy and thick. I keep it out on the counter because I am using it so often. It has the capacity to store the lids while the yogurt is "cooking" and the cover is easy to remove when done.

I have a yogurt maker that makes a single liter batch at one time, with no timer. It is a pain. Half the time doesn't turn out right and you have to be around to watch it with no timer.
This Euro is just totally wonderful. Glass jars, not plastic - very very sturdily made yogurt maker, jars and lids plus the lids store in the top.
I made coconut milk yogurt. Poured it in the jars, set it for 8 hours - and came back to find perfect yogurt. I think having separate jars rather than one container assures a victory every time.
Just love it and it isn't too big to keep on the counter.

A simple, effective appliance for making your own yogurt. You gotta put in a little time to start off, bringing the milk to 180 deg., then cooling to 110 before adding the starter. After that, this little machine does the rest. I make mine with organic milk, a little sugar and a vanilla bean. It makes the creamiest, tastiest yogurt ever. The jars are nice if you want portion control, but I make mine in a 1.5 L bowl and it comes out perfectly.

I love this yogurt maker, it is very easy to use, and the yogurt comes out wonderful. I especially love the glass jars as opposed to plastic. The individual jars make it easy for my kids to just grab a serving when they want a snack or to have it as part of their meal. Moreover, it is easy to pack in a lunch. This yogurt maker is an awesome addition for my kitchen!
