We used this machine for tomato juice as well as applesauce. It was so easy to use and saved hours in preparing the applesauce. It was amazing how little waste there is by using this product. There is a small amount of peelings meaning there is more applesauce or tomato juice to enjoy.

This summer I have a garden overflowing with beautiful tomatoes. I began by manually separating seeds from the flesh and boiling the tomatoes in order to remove the skin. It is very time consuming, so I decided to look up machines which processed tomatoes into sauce. I cam across this one and was pleasantly delighted! I was pumping out sauce in no time. I do think that the proper cone for tomato sauce making is the one labeled for "salsas" otherwise, it is well worth the buy. And remember, don't rush the machine as you fill it with the tomatoes, you will get years of service out of this one if you are patient!

I recently purchased this product and was pleasantly surprised by the power of the motor and its ease of operation. Despite the fact that I am not very good at assembly, this machine was easy to assemble and the motor was more powerful than I anticipated. I had used the manual version for many years and this machine cut my work time by about 65-70 per cent. I love it and think that you get good value for the price. I would buy this again!

My son and I have been making home made apple sauce for several years now, using a hand crank strainer and sauce maker to remove the skins, cores, and seeds from the apples. It is probably the most intense part of this annual project.
I surprized my son with a new electric Roma Strainer and Sauce Maker last week....Needless to say, you would have thought I gave him a million bucks!
This tool is exaclty what is required for anyone who loves to can fresh food but doesn't because of the time it takes....Well, stress no more.....! Get yourself one of these guys and enjoy the "fruits" of your now "limited" labor.
GO ROMA.....YOU ROCK!!

After recieving this item we used it to make apple sauce. The results were exactly what we wanted. We used the medium strainer and the texture was execellant. It seperated the seeds and peeling exactly as advertised. I am looking forward to processing tomatoes using this item.

Every year we can 3-400 pound of tomatoes, with a hand crank machine. This year I decided to upgrade to an electric machine. My initial though when I received the machine was its plastic and will not hold up. Boy was I wrong, this baby chugged through 350 pound of San Marzano like butter. Great machine , highly recommend it.

Before I got the tomato strainer, I use to use food mil o strain my canned tomatoes. It gets messy and time consuming, With this tomato strainer I was able to skin and strain 5lbs of tomatoes in less than 7 minutes without the mess. What a great addition to my kitchen tools.

I was very excited to order and then receive the Roma product. I've been straining tomatoes by hand for many, many years and was ready to go electric. I was disappointed in the product because it took some time to put it together and then, one of the metal graters didn't put out any seeds or peels but would jam up on me and they peels came out the grater holes. The finest grater seam got plugged with peels and split. But, with hand pressure went back together. Still, it is faster than doing it the old fashion way. I'll keep using it.

I can a lot of applesauce and I have used an old oaster machine with a ricer but i always have to borrow the ricer. This has been perfect. When I run out of my canned apple sauce, this is so easy, I may make it just for a meal. thanks

I received this as a gift. I was anxious to try it but needed to wait until fresh produce was available. Well it worked great on raspberries and blackberries although it was a PAIN to clean. Then I tried tomatoes. Would you believe the auger refused to turn inside the tomato screen? After a great deal of FRUSTRATION my husband finally got it to work and we processed the tomatoes. Okay they made a nice sauce BUT way too much effort involved in getting the machine to work. I'm not happy with the equipment and will be replacing it with a manual model in a different brand.

I waited until I was able to put the tomato strainer through the paces. I had 3 bushel of tomatoes to work with in one weekend and It did the job efficiently. For a small appliance, I got the job done in less time than with my favorite hand-crank strainer and with a LOT less mess. I am very pleased!

I was a little worried about this product after a review I read about tomato splatter. While there is some splatter and a larger more curved guard would be great, this is still a really good product. Where I was spending hours a day boiling, cold water bath, skinning and seeding and cutting the tomatoes, I now just wash, core and remove bad spots and viola!
40 to 50 tomatos done in less than 2 hrs!.. Wish I had purchased this products sooner!

Received this machine last weekend and did 100lbs. of tomatoes. It worked great and cut our time by half. Wish we had had it the week before when we did 150lbs.! The key is to keep it very lubricated. If you don't have the food grade silicone, use vegetable oil or cooking spray. That is what we used. My husband put it together. Not too much trouble. Once he did it, the second time he had no problem. I recommend getting this, if you put up a lot of tomatoes as I do.
So quick and easy!

STAYING WITH WESTON'S ROMA MODEL 07-0801....

After having retired from work five years ago, my wife and I had begun planting more tomatoes in our garden; thusly, we have enjoyed using Roma's original model #07-0801 Food Strainer & Sauce Maker along with Roma's optional 2-speed electric motor. Being that each summer we now process a great number of tomatoes as well as processing blackberries, we have found that Roma's older model #07-0801, with Roma's two speed electric motor attached, to perform superbly whereby the combination of the two, have stood the test of time ! Recently, when I had seen the new Roma Deluxe Electric Tomato Strainer model #82-0202-W advertised, I had purchased one to give it a try, however; when in use, the hopper had severely leaked where it connected to the strainer's head which had caused me to have to resort to wrapping duct tape around the neck of the hopper where it had connected to the head. Also, with this new deluxe model, I found the motor to be noisy, unlike Weston's optional electric motor that attaches to our old Model #07-0801 ! Additionally, with the new Model #82-0202-W, I found the neck diameter of it's hopper and the diameter of it's head to be somewhat smaller (when compared to hopper head and body neck of the old Model #07-0801) whereby tomatoes could not be fed as easily down through the hopper into the head. Also, when tomatoes were being gently pushed through the hopper down into the head, juice would squirt out from the top of the metal screen whereby tomato juice would end up landing upon our kitchen walls and atop the surface of our kitchen floor. Being that the plastic chute supplied with the new electric model does not wrap over (atop) the metal screen as does the plastic chute on the old model, apparently, is why the old model #07-0801 does not permit juice to escape and splatter ! To conclude, I would have to say that the new model #82-0202-W does what it is supposed to do but, not nearly as nicely as does the original model #07-0801 when Weston's optional 2-speed electric motor is attached.. Subsequent to my having purchased the new deluxe model #82-0202-W, it had been used only once and now it has been "moth-balled" ! Just last week, I had purchased another one of the old model #07-0801's because I am familiar with the superb job that it can do whereby, as of now, my wife and I are proud owners of two older model #07-0801's and with Weston's optional 2-speed motors attached, both are doing a tremendously fine job !
