LamsonSharp Vintage Premier Bread Knife, 9"

LamsonSharp Vintage Premier Bread Knife, 9" : This Lamson Vintage Premier bread knife quickly slices soft and hard-crusted breads without crushing soft, moist interiors. This professional bread knife is the baker's essential tool for restaurant-quality presentation. Produced in America from super alloy American steel, the Lamson bread knife is double tempered with cryogenic phase to the perfect 60 degree Rockwell for maximum hardness and superior edge retention. The result is a heat-treated, structurally stronger, more durable edge with grain structure that is less brittle, allowing easy sharpening. Laser-controlled blade edge stays sharp longer, with a more consistent blade angle. The Lamson Vintage bread knife blade is superior to all forgeable materials in surface, edge and corrosion resistance. This is the outstanding precision craftsmanship that has established Lamson as the experts in American-made cutlery. The richly-grained morado wood handle on this bread knife exemplifies the tradition of original cutlery. An exotic wood from the mahogany family, this morado handle is contoured with palm swell for exceptional comfort and an ergonomic, glove-fitting grip. Nice knife, bad design

This could be a great knife, BUT the angle of the blade, which slopes slightly down in relation to the cutting board, causes the tip to dig into the cutting board before the bread is sliced through. Nicely made, good steel (see my reviews of the utility and santoku knives to see how I feel about this line of knives in general).

I'm partial to LamsonSharp, because they're made here, and they're good cutlery. This bread knife is a winner.

This knife is the most handsome knife I have ever purchased! It handles well and is a great length for quickly slicing through homemade bread. I look forward to acquiring more of this brand soon!
