Breville Lift and Look Long Slot Toaster, BTA630XL : Intelligent technology and extra-wide and long slots toast artisanal breads, bagels and pastries to exact shade desired. With the touch of a button and five precise shade levels, the motorized carriage on the Breville Lift and Look toaster lowers bread, bagel or English muffins. As the toasting cycle begins, the internal countdown with visible LED indicates toasting level progress. Lift and look function automatically raises bread carriage, allowing a quick check, without canceling or resetting the cycle. Also conveniently lets you adjust toasting before the end of the cycle. This high-tech Breville toaster performs beyond traditional mechanical toasters. With A Bit More targeted function, bread lowers to add the perfect finishing touch. Self-centering slots fit up to 4 slices of sandwich bread or English muffins. Features bagel and defrost buttons, toast/cancel and audible ready alert. The bagel function on this long slot toaster activates additional heat to the center heating elements, toasting only the inside of the bagel. Using the defrost button, this toaster automatically increases time to thaw frozen bread, waffles or pastries, then toasts to the browning level. Removable crumb tray is dishwasher safe. My old toaster finally bit the dust and we needed a new one. It had to be able to toast a bagel and any large pieces of bread, plus be easy to operate and do a good job. Well this Breville does it all. It even allows you to raise the toast and look to see how done it is and if it needs more time it has a "little more" button that lowers the bread back down and toasts it just a bit more.....great feature. It is a large toaster and may be too big for a really small kitchen, but other than that I would highly recommend....

When my "elderly" toaster ceased to work, I headed for the Internet to see what new features were being offered. After many comparisons and reading comments from recent purchasers, I sent for this toaster mainly for the color and the elongated slots. The toaster I received had so many more wonderful features that I thought I didn't need but in fact enjoy using every day in addition to it being a very attractive addition alongside my other small appliances.
My Favorite BrandBreville has become my favorite.

Been searching for a "good" toaster forever! Have spent a lot and a little. This one is finally the answer. Love the long slots and the "lift and peek" feature. Also love the "little bit more" feature.

My husband bought me a Black & Decker toaster for Christamas (he will never do that again, he's promised) and it was horribly tinny with cheap knobs that broke within weeks.
In contrast, this Breville toaster is very sturdy and solid, with a nice list of features. It toasts very evenly, and I like the "lift & look" button to check a bagel or English muffin to see if it's done.
I also like the clean white finish - which does not get hot during toasting.

I have gone through three cheap toasters in as many years. The lever on two of them quit working, so I would have to stand there and physically hold the lever down until the toast was done (THAT gets to be a pain!) The heating elements on the 3rd toaster just quit working altogether. I also got tired of having to stand long pieces of bread on-end in order for them to fit in the slot, toast half the bread, then turn it around to toast the other end. I found the Breville Lift and Look Long Slot Toaster on-line, and am so far very happy with it. My only (minor) complaint is that one side of the bread toasts a little bit lighter, but not a big deal!

Works as advertised- big enough for 2 full bagels. It is a little more eager to burn toast than our previous toaster, but after a day, we figured out the proper settings.

With so many of the breads baked in a wider loaf,
my normal toaster was to narrow. I liked the idea of the longer slots and that was the main reason I ordered it. We are delighted with the operation and the controls. It toasts very even.

This is the most automated and exciting toaster I have ever had. It makes toast, English muffins, large bread slices, waffles just the way I like them. It even lets you check to see how things are browning. We use it every day ..I make home made sour dough bread and it does an excellent job toasting it just right. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants the best.

The toaster seems to be a quality product from appearance and feel. Have not actually used this

I can't even begin to count the number of toasters we've used over the years and not one of them was an excellent toaster. Now I can say we found it!! Even my husband is impressed with this toaster. Worth every penny.

We've been using this toaster for about 2 weeks and haven't had a single problem...so far. We just love the "a bit more" button -- as it does just what it should. We have found that doing bagels on higher than the #3 setting gets them a little overdone, but setting #2 works just great for getting them lightly toasted and warm throughout. It is a rather massive thing and uses quite a bit of space, but it is also really nice to be able to do all of the toast for the two of us in one go and we can dine on warm toast together! The top around the slots can get quite hot so be careful removing smaller pieces!

This is the first toaster that works perfect for me. It toast the bread on all sides the first time. I also love the fact that you can check it and if it is not to you satisfaction, and if not you can push the, a bit more button. It also beeps when the toast is done. I love it.

The Breville Lift and Look toaster has all the features I have often wanted in a toaster, especially the "a little more" button. It works quietly and --so far--without fault. I would have bought a stainless steel cased version if it were available for a somewhat higher price. The crumb tray is particularly well designed and easy to remove for cleaning, without moving the toaster around. This is NOT a petit toaster, so be sure you have enough counter space for it.

I was looking for a lot in a toaster and I finally found it. Biggest qualities - versatility and consistency. It can toast thick bagels and long artisan breads - one to four slices. It toasts both sides very close to the same amount for the first use AND subsequent uses. Love the "a bit more" button, the "peek" button and the fact that you can see the time remaining as it toasts - and the SINGLE "done" beep. We can also defrost AND toast my wife's frozen waffles.
