Also ideal to keep favorite seasonings at hand while preparing marinades, rubs, soup stocks or sauces, even without pre-measuring. Made in France by the inventors of tempered glass, these Duralex bowls streamline baking, storing sugar toppings, colored icings or nonpareils. Two sizes: 4-oz. and 6-oz. are perfect serving dishes for sour cream, condiments, dips or bread dipping oils. These are great to get me prepared before I start cooking so I can measure everything out ahead of time and not keep going back and forth to the recipe. And the two sizes are great - the small ones for the spices and the bigger ones for eggs, sugar or flour. And the price was good. And you can stack them which makes storage easier.

I have watched cooking show where these type of bowls are used and it seemed like a good idea. I used these for a beef stew and they really made prep easier. So why didn't I have these before....I don't know, but these are heavier and worked great and I felt like a "real" pro.

These prep bowls are great to use. They are the perfect size for putting in spices and liquids to add to dishes. It makes giving a cooking demonstration organized. The prep bowls are also great to use when cooking at home. The bowls are also great to use for dipping sauces.

After taking a few cooking classes at the CIA, I always thought having prep dishes to get everything ready before really starting to cook was a great idea (case in point, last week my wife made a cake and forgot the baking powder until the batter was in the oven for five minutes- - she mixed it in and all was fine, but the kids heard a number of choice words).
These prep dishes seem like great quality. Stackable and leave a very small footprint on a shelf/cupboard. Looking forward to many years of use.

Don't know why I waited so long to purchase these prep bowls. Only had them a week, but I use them constantly. Not only for prep, but also as small condiment dishes. Good sizes and seem to be quite durable. Love them!
