Perfect little dutch oven for small batches of home-made sauces and soups. A lot of times the 6qt dutch oven is just too large. If you like to cook with cast iron the enameled interior will allow you to make tomato based sauces and soups. Good for braising if you have a small chunk of meat. Clean-up is easy. I remove stains with a little baking soda and a nylon pad, but don't usually have to. The porcelain-enameled cast iron does require a little care. You've got to be patient and allow yourself extra time to cook, high heat can damage the cookware, use low to medium. It takes a while to get a boil on low, but it will happen. Never use metal utensils they will scratch, use wood, nylon, or silicone. Take care not to drop, bang, or even stack the cookware, it will chip the enamel. Overall the extra care is worth the outcome. Even heat. Oven-safe to 450.Tender meat, savory sauces and stews. And it looks good.
