I purchased 3 of the grease separators, one for me and two for friends, after hearing about how they work. I used the separator to separate cream from whole milk, and it worked beautifully. Using separators with a low pour spout never really worked because you had to "move" the contents when pouring, and milk and cream would mix together slightly. Not so with the bottom pouring. I am anxious to try it to separate grease. I am sure it will work just as well.

Looked for a grease separator that made cooking easy. This separator did it. Cleanup was a breeze. Also use it to separate solids from liquids in leftovers that are being tossed.

I replaced a very old grease separator with this one. What a difference. Works great. I especially like the strainer top. A very good buy!

This product works great. I was a little skeptical that it wouldn't leak, but it seals tight until you pull the trigger.. Love that it holds a good amount and also strains. Far superior to the one i am replacing .Must have in my kitchen

It's more heavy duty plastic than my last separator that finally cracked. Should last a long time. I especially like the strainer top that worked well with chicken drippings. 'Sliding valve' mechanism seems well designed and sealed both before and after separating the grease.

Had a grease separator years ago that have a spout on the bottom to pour the broth and not the grease.

This is the best grease separator EVER! It makes the most sense. In this unit you have perfect control of when to start and most importantly stop the flow!

Have had this less than two months. Site (Details tab) said it's safe for hot liquids. First couple of times I used it, worked fine. This past week, I was using it to degrease chicken broth. Filled it and set it on a cutting board to let the grease come to the top. Turned my back to move something on the stove. Heard something pop. There was broth running all over the counter top. The captivating plastic piece on the bottom had given way (glue failed ?). Extremely disappointing. Concept is good but don't trust it with hot liquids regardless of what the 'Details' tab says. And if I have to wait for the liquid to cool, I might as well skim the grease manually.

When I unpacked this the only instructions were only on the packaging and it said the grease comes out the bottom. That is exactly the opposite of how it works. The website describes it correctly.

They always loose some good stuff pouring the grease out of the neck. This one starts with the good stuff.

When I first saw this I had a "duh" moment-what a great solution. My current separator makes a mess when you pour it (glass from WS) and is a bit of a pain to clean up.
This one is easy to clean, seems well constructed, works wonderfully, and is nice and light.
I only gave a 4 as the screen on the lid has very large holes that can easily let pieces into the separator that could clog the drain (this has not happened to me yet) so I use a strainer on any liquid that has larger remnants in it.

This is by far the best device for getting a clean separation of broth from grease. It is patterned after sepratory funnels used in scientific laboratories and works with the same precision needed in science. I have had one and used it for several years. The current purchase was for a friend who was using a variety of unsatisfactory methods - including having her mother-in-law do the separation.

The concept of this separator is good but the design of the container bottom is too flat; I left too much good liquid in the container because it remains spread out over the entire bottom. If there were a small diameter well that housed the drain plug, it would allow a more efficient separation of good liquid from fat. I won't give it kitchen-room.
