I've used this for years with great success. It is really great for roasting on the outdoor grill and gives you the freedom of being anywhere in the house while still being able to monitor the temp of what you are cooking. Also works great as an instant read digital thermometer.

Not sure if I got a dud but this unit was nothing but trouble when I first used it. First it would not sync with the probe. Then after four tries it worked and I put the roast in the oven. Within 5 minutes it started beeping that the roast was done at 125 degrees. I fiddled with it and it went back to an internal temp of 40 degrees. No less than four times during the 25 minute cooking process it did this. So frustrating! I wanted this so I could work on other dishes worry free as my roast cooked. I am returning it.
