I recently got the Staub Wide Round 6-Qt. Cocotte and already I'm in love with this pot. I love the dimensions. It is a bit wider and not as tall as their regular line of round cocottes. For me it is just right. I have plenty of room to move and turn the foods that are browning in the bottom, yet it is deep enough to accommodate large roasts. The matte black surface that Staub uses in its cookware is terrific. It browns beautifully and there is very little sticking. If you follow the instructions about giving the interior a light coating of cooking oil before you begin to cook, you will have much less problem with food possibly sticking. This is a heavy duty, well made pot with a tight-fitting lid and the finish is superb. This pot performs as well on top of the stove as it does in the oven. Braises are meltingly tender and moist. Sauces, soups and stews are rich and delicious. Cleanup is easy, too. If you do have any stuck-on food residue, simply pour in enough warm water to cover the soiled areas and let it sit while you enjoy your meal. The food should lift off easily when you wash the pot with a non-abrasive scrubber in hot, sudsy water. I say, well done, Staub!

Heats quickly and browns perfectly. Works well on rangetop or oven (great for low and slow cooking). Easy to clean, to the point of looking as if it was never used!
